‘Four Seasons’ 180x130cm My biggest piece heading to the fair and a fave for sure. I like the soft dustiness, it’s warm cool and everything between. So happy how it came out and can’t wait to see it under the bright lights. #melbourneart #aafmelbourne #abstractart #australianart #colourfulabstract by @madeline_ryan_art
Normally I have a solid idea of what I want paint, but sometimes in the moment feel pulled to something else and there’s always some resistance towards the pivot because what I have in my mind I want to see come to fruition 🤪 But going with the flow is always the right call! This is how The Lilies came about and it’s my favourite painting of the year. 110x150cm and is available to purchase - pls DM to enquire. . . . #artwork #abstract #melbourneartist #australianart #artdaily by @madeline_ryan_art

Meet ‘Casa Blanca’ 🤍 Inspired by the Casa Blanca lily. I wanted to capture the contrast of the flower’s soft whites and greens, with flashes of warm ochre and burnt orange running through like pollen. Part of my flower-inspired collection for the Sydney Art Fair 🌿 . . . #art #artfair #sydneyartfair #abstractart #impasto by @madeline_ryan_art
The impressionist era has always inspired me. Particularly Monet and his handle on colour and composition - it’s actually what’s given me the confidence to take more risks with this collection. I never would have put lime and chartreuse beside pinks and lavender before studying his work. Art has always been a conversation between artists, across time. We learn from those who came before us, then find our own voice. That’s what makes it so beautiful. This piece along with 10 others will be available at the Sydney Affordable Art Fair with @affordableartfairau.. find me a stand A1 with @artist_lane . . . #Art #abstract #impressionist #modern #australianart by @madeline_ryan_art

Sometimes you go to risk it for the biscuit. Officially my favorite piece. I can’t believe one rainy Sunday afternoon I decided to give this wild colour palette a crack. I never make art on Sundays, but I felt the pull!! Plus with only 3 days to go and knowing I had one more I wanted to make it was now or never. The last chance to finish the collection. This feels like me on a canvas. And I can’t believe it’s going tomorrow so I had it for two nights 🥲 ‘Flower Market’ (1.3 x 1.8m) will be available at Affordable Art Fair Sydney with @artist_lane 🌸 #artwork #femaleartist #contemporary #newart #australianart by @madeline_ryan_art
When @pohoflowers asked me to create a piece for their shop, the timing was so perfect as my practice had been quite influenced by the colours of flowers lately. Its still very much a work in progress, but I couldn’t wait to share the process so far. Thank you @pohoflowers for trusting me with this, and for bringing the inspiration straight to my door. . . . #Art #artinspo #painter #artist #australianart by @madeline_ryan_art
Native to South Africa, the Strelitzia, or as we know it, the Bird of Paradise, is bold, striking and impossible to ignore. I wanted to capture that power as a Colourwave. A favourite from the Sydney AAF collection. 🧡 @affordableartfairau @artist_lane 130x180cm #sydneyaaf #impastopainting #paletteknifeart #contempiraryart #australianartist by @madeline_ryan_art

I wasn’t sure what to paint this day but happened to pick the most delightful little bunch of flowers on my way home so that did the trick 🙊🌸 ‘Dahlia’ 140x140 for Sydney AAF with @artist_lane . . . #artist #artwork #abstract #boldart #bigart by @madeline_ryan_art
