A wrap on this year’s Navratri season with my BollyPop students where they spoke about the celebration to their families, performed garba (even in a flash mob at a farmer’s market!), met and danced with other BollyPop students, and taught dhandiya to their parents! Feeling immensely grateful for this community and the students who keep inspiring me!

One for the memory books 👣

Constantly remembering the privilege I have to give my child a childhood where she can have what she needs at a time when caregivers in Gaza, in Sudan, in Congo, and in so many other places cannot. What does it mean to live in a world where one child’s feet are dipped in rice flour as a celebration while another is prevented from eating that same rice. As I remember the stories of Krishna I was told as a kid I remember the never ending bowl of food that he had so all could have enough to eat. May this Janmashtami bring Akshaya Patras to all the world’s children.
