POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi friends. This is part of an exercise where I record a whole song and post the whole thing, being okay with moments of imperfection and instability. I also included my new mantra at the beginning, for any musicians who might still have trauma from conservatory training: “We’re telling a story, not singing a jury”

I guess this also might start a series called the Dream Role Tapes: where I sing a song from a role that I would love to play? Anyway, here’s a @sarabareilles classic.

We’re really back in the swing of things, so here’s a little photodump of late 2025/early 2026. Spoiler alert: I love @canlieduenca so so much. Every trip, every laugh, every holiday I spend with her will never be enough time. She’s also sailor of the frickin year and my best friend ☺️ by @madilyncrossland

Y’all, please forgive my guitar playing. I’m singing this tune at @monarquebaltimore this weekend with @michaeljosephharris who is a REAL guitarist, and a good one, and a real good one.

If you don’t have Halloweekend plans, come eat some really good food and listen to live music ALL NIGHT LONG! Duo set from 6-7, and live variety shows with a 4 piece combo at 7:30 and 9:30. Friday and Saturday. It will be spooooooky 🎃

I’m sick, so I’m not able to perform for the @usnavyband ‘s Navy Birthday concert tonight. It’s a bummer, but I’m grateful for my talented friends and colleagues who are able to put on a fantastic show and have each other’s backs when we need it.

Since I can’t sing this week, I wanted to share my national anthem at the @gosquirrels game a few weeks ago. This was the first anthem performance I felt pleased with for quite some time. I’ll never consider it perfect, but at least I’m still proud.

If you are a soprano, and you would like the opportunity to sing the National Anthem for various sports games and events, you should consider auditioning for the Sea Chanters! Applications are due in TEN DAYS, on October 19th. If you’re interested, visit the Navy Band’s website and head to the audition page.

Then tune in to the livestream for tonight’s Navy Birthday concert at 7:30 PM EST! Link is in my stories. by @madilyncrossland

Thank you all for the love. We feel it. We love you back. So much. It’s pretty cool to marry your best friend and then tell all your friends about it. by @madilyncrossland

50 years ago today, Stevie Wonder released “Songs in the Key of Life” which I believe is one of the greatest albums of all time. The craziest thing is that he almost gave up on music right before that. I’m so glad he didn’t, because these songs have been so influential, not only for me, but for so many musicians I admire.

Speaking of musicians I admire, I feel so lucky to be able to collaborate with @_abraham_olivo on such a frequent basis. He is such an incredible technician, improviser, and human being. And the first person I thought of for this song.

Side note, I got the chance to Stevie Wonder on tour in 2024, but if anyone has an extra ticket to this upcoming tour that isn’t over $500, please let me know 😂😭

Hey everyone…….. we have an announcement ♥️ by @madilyncrossland

More photos, celebrations, and memories will be shared, but I wanted to take a moment to congratulate the love of my life, @canlieduenca on her promotion to Chief Petty Officer!! Watching her excel in her performance and leadership throughout our time at the band has inspired me as a person and a sailor. This promotion is so well-deserved, after 12 years of incredible service and 6 weeks of initiation classes, trials, and challenges. It was an honor to pin you to your new rank. I love you so much and I can’t wait to see what you do next ♥️ by @madilyncrossland

One thing about a duo gig with @fedakfedak …. is we’re gonna do something kooky. I’m glad we could appease this request but not stress out about it.

And yes, it is often very loud in there 😂
