Here are 3 things my clients are doing to feel more in control around food… 1. Eating meals and snacks that have protein +carbs + fat (carbs are not the enemy!) 2. Eating more during the first part of the day. No more calling that cup of coffee and piece of fruit breakfast or skipping lunch because work gets too busy. 3. Letting go of all or nothing thinking when it comes to food and practicing self compassion 🫶🏻 When you pair nourishing your body properly with a mindset shift, that’s when the magic can really happen ✨✨✨ by @maereillynutrition
✨Hi I’m Mae. Mae Reilly Nutrition was born out of my passion to help other busy moms (and dads) prioritize their own health and wellness with a non-diet approach focusing on sustainable changes. With two young kids at home and a third on the way, I’m in the thick of it too and know how hard it is to balance it all 🤪 ✨I’m technically the middle child with a twin sister and older brother. I grew up in a Chicago suburb but now live in a small town outside of Boston. I miss Chicago pizza, but I’ll take a lobster roll with a cold glass of bubbly any day! ✨I really enjoy cooking but our family does a fair amount of breakfast for dinner when things get cray. My garden is my happy place. I love slow weekend mornings with a large iced coffee. I couldn’t live without my paper planner during a busy work week. ✨Empowering others with the tools and strategies they need to achieve their health and wellness goals is my true passion. Thanks for finding my little corner of the internet. Happy Friday friends! Xo Mae by @maereillynutrition

No Bake Energy Bites. The one thing I prep at the start of most weeks. My answer for hangry kids when they get home from school. Or for when my oldest over sleeps and only has 2 minutes for breakfast before the bus comes. Or for when 3pm rolls around and I need a little pick me up. Or when my middle gets home from a 7pm soccer practice and is starving but already ate dinner. Or during those early postpartum days when I only had one free hand and needed something to quickly nourish my body. These are the answer to it all! The perfect combination of fiber + protein + healthy fats. Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl. Roll them into balls and store them in the refrigerator. I hope you like these as much as we do ❤️ by @maereillynutrition
Our late July garden ✨ We did mostly flowers this year with a few of our favorite veggies and herbs mixed in. We are traveling a lot and I’m juggling having the kids home/shuttling to camps/seeing clients in between it all. Flowers are extremely low maintenance once they get going and they bring us all so much joy. The zinnias and cosmos can be cut and then they continue to produce more blooms which means we have bud vases filled with these beauties in most rooms of our home. The pollinators 🐝 love them and going out to cut flowers each day is my zen amongst the summer chaos. by @maereillynutrition
Let’s make chia sprinkles! My favorite dietitian mom hack to incorporate chia seeds into my kids’ diet for a little extra fiber, protein and healthy fat! We love adding these to plain yogurt or peanut butter toast. Let me know in the comments if this is something you think your child would enjoy! #momoflittles #nutritionforkids #bostondietitian #pickyeating #balancednutrition by @maereillynutrition

📣WORKSHOP ALERT!📣 ✨Join me for a virtual workshop on Tuesday April 14th for parents or caregivers who are looking for support on how to navigate picky eating. Can’t make it live? Each participant will have access to the recording to watch whenever it works for you! ✨During this workshop we will focus on how to reduce stress at mealtimes. My goal is to help you enjoy eating with your family and feel confident feeding your kids. I will give you tips and strategies to help create an eating environment that embraces curiosity and brings connection rather than being a time filled with frustration and second guessing how you are handling it all. I will discuss how to raise intuitive eaters and how to help your child cultivate a healthy relationship with food. We will also talk about how to handle sweets and ways to ensure your child is getting the nutrients they need to grow and thrive. ✨As a Registered Dieitian and mom of 3, I truly understand how challenging meal times can be. You will walk away from this workshop with strategies you can implement right away to transform your family’s mealtime experience. This workshop is $20/person. Link to register is in my bio. DM with any questions ❤️ by @maereillynutrition
A breakfast idea that takes 5 minutes to make, will support your energy level, and help keep you full throughout the morning: ✅ Greek yogurt (meant to say 3/4 cup in the video!) + pumpkin seeds + chia seeds (protein + fiber + fat) ✅ frozen blueberries (carbs + phytonutrients) ✅ honey + 🍊 zest + flaky sea salt (flavor) ✨If you eat breakfast and feel hungry again in less than 2 hours, you’re likely missing a component. Check to see if you have a source of carbs, protein and fat. If not, what can you add to make your breakfast more complete? ✨ What you eat at breakfast can have a big impact on your food choices later on in the day. If you are under eating during the first part of the day, you might notice more afternoon or nighttime cravings. I love brainstorming with my clients to come up with balanced meal and snack ideas based on their preferences, health goals, and lifestyle. If this is something you need help with, I am currently accepting new clients! Apply for a free introductory call through the link in my profile or DM me with questions ✨ I first saw this yogurt bowl recipe from @nineandsixteen ❤️❤️❤️ #balancednutrition #intuitiveeating #momoflittles #busymomlife❤️ #bostondietitian #nutritionformoms #momssupportingmoms #healthybreakfast by @maereillynutrition
A few years ago I got a letter in the mail. It reminded me that 6 years prior I had consented to be a part of a research study while getting blood work done during my first pregnancy. The researchers had finally received funding to run the samples and turns out “they found something” with mine. I learned that I have a genetic mutation called PALB2. This mutation puts me at greater risk for certain cancers including breast, ovarian and pancreatic. Over the last couple of years I’ve gone for MRI’s and mammograms every few months. Based on family history and a few other factors, my team and I decided it would be best to have a preventative double mastectomy. So that is my next step on Oct 20th. Feeling a lot of things- grateful to have the information and the ability to make this decision. Knowledge is power and after spending over a decade as an oncology dietitian, I truly understand how important early detection can be. Anxious about what the recovery will be like. Thankful I was able to breastfeed my 3 babies. Worried about how my kids will adjust to me being out of commission for a bit. Excited to be able to run with a bit more comfort 🤣 Grateful to have the most amazing support network surrounding me. ✨ Not something I thought I would be dealing with at this point in my life, but so happy to be able to take the necessary steps to stay healthy ❤️ by @maereillynutrition
As we shift into back to school mode, it’s easy to feel like you aren’t doing enough. Or feel guilty because your kid’s lunches don’t look like the perfectly curated bento box ones you see all over social media. But I want you to remember this: What your kid’s lunches look like and what they eat or don’t eat at lunch, says nothing about you as a mom. We are all just doing the best that we can. You’re an amazing mom even if: You don’t cut your kid’s food into fun shapes Your kids buy lunch most days of the week Your kids only want to eat white bread Your kids don’t eat the lunch you packed You don’t include a hand written note Nothing in the lunch is homemade If you’re in this back to school season too, I see you and I’m on this journey with you ✨ by @maereillynutrition
