UPDATE: ARCs are officially open!! Here are just a few 🌶️ microtropes I am DYING to see more of in romantasy books! Cuddling to keep warm: specifically before anything intimate has happened between the main characters! The tension this causes! Are you kidding me?? When he washes her hair: specifically when she’s a chronic people pleaser who is always taking care of other people and never takes care of herself! The nickname Darling: sprinkle in the vibes of it starting condescending and turning affectionate Decorated hand necklaces: but hear me out when it’s being used as a “necklace” it’s more soft and gentle and helping her stay grounded in the moment 👀 He cuts her out of her dress: because she can’t breathe, because her dress is too heavy to get her to safety, because he’s simply sick of having a barrier between them, whatever the reason IM HERE FOR IT! MMC wearing sl*tty little necklaces: when an MMC wears jewelry it’s just superior I have the best news too! I know EXACTLY where you can find all of this 🤭 Isle of the Imaginaries: COVER REVEAL COMING 10/15 💚 Peter Pan retelling 💚 MMC wears necklaces 💚 he washes her hair 💚 banishment to a remote island 💚 he cuts her out of her dress 💚 cuddling to keep warm #peterpanretelling #fairytaleretelling #microtropes #romantasybookrecs by @maggielynnauthor
The algorithm believes you’re my target audience… is it correct? I wrote a fantasy romance where a girl who is born without a gifted destiny birthmark like everyone else in the land takes her fate into her own hands, and nothing is ever the same for her! The first two books in the series are out now with the third one coming out later this month! Book one: Marked By Destiny Book two: Scarred By History Book Three: Tattooed By Fate (arc signups open) The Marked Series 💙 Destiny Birthmarks 🩵 Found Family 💛 Quests and Adventures 💙 Slow Burn 🩵 Love Triangle 💛 Warrior Training #fantasyreaders #fantasyromancebooks #underhypedbooks #kindleunlimitedfantasy #fantasyseries by @maggielynnauthor
I can’t believe I’m a 3 time published author now 🤭💜 Castle of Cursed is officially available on KU and Amazon and it doesn’t even feel real! This story holds such a special place in my heart because it was the first ever story idea I got apart from my fantasy series! I had been in such a dry spell with book ideas and I swear this opened the flood gates for me, and now I have a whole collection of fairytale retelling ideas 💜 Castle of the Cursed is a standalone romantasy that is a Beauty and the Beast retelling! It features tropes like: 🥀 Forced proximity 🥀 one sided enemies to lovers 🥀 pining MMC 🥀 st@bby FMC 🥀 “Use me” #romantasy #indieauthorsofig #newbookrelease by @maggielynnauthor
Banished to a remote island, she can’t trust anyone, but she has no choice except to let him be her guide. In this Peter Pan retelling the King is corrupt and his miracle island of rehabilitation is far from what it seems! ARC Sign Ups are officially open! If you love romantasy books with 💚 grumpy X sunshine vibes 💚 floating islands in the sky 💚 underrated microtropes like cuddling to keep warm 💚 when he falls harder 💚 and Peter Pan retellings Then you won’t want to miss this chance to sign up for Isle of the Imaginaries #peterpanretelling #arcreaderswanted #fairytaleretelling #grumpysunshine #romantasyreaders by @maggielynnauthor
Here are a few unconventional 🌶️ microtropes that may not seem hot and heavy but get my blood PUMPING and I NEED more of them especially in romantasy settings! When he takes care of kids: now this works especially well for me when it’s not a single dad scenario! Something about a man who just genuinely cares about the well being or children makes me melt 🫠 Cuddling to keep warm: specifically before anything intimate happen because then the tension is just out of this world! He massages her feet: HEAR ME OUT! It’s more of the reason behind it! He wants to take care of her , and when he gets lowkey annoyed that she isn’t taking care of herself so he does it!! It’s so hot you can’t tell me anything different! He cuts her out of her dress: because she can’t breathe, because her dress is too heavy for her to love, because he’s simply sick or having a barrier between them, listen I’m not picky and I’ll eat it up every time! The nickname Darling: something about this nickname scratches an itch in my brain! ESPECIALLY when it goes from a condescending nickname to an affectionate one 😍 She teaches him to dance: you cannot tell me this isn’t a one way ticket to glorious tension! Imagine they’re both still fighting feelings but somehow they’re put in a situation where they have to dance or just start dancing and their bodies brush! It’s tension galore and I love it! MMC with sl*tty necklaces: i know everyone’s into rings but I think necklaces on an MMC is slept on! I mean do I need to say more?? Please refer to the photo evidence of how hot this is! Also imagine she uses them to tug him closer 🤭😍 If you’re like me and a feral wild animal for any of these then I have exciting news! ARC sign ups are officially open for Isle of the Imaginaries (publishing 2/4/27) Sign up info is in my bio! Isle of the Imaginaries: 💚Peter Pan retelling 💚 MMC wears necklaces 💚 grumpy X sunshine 💚 remote island/banishment 💚 he cuts her out of her dress 💚 she teaches him to dance #peterpanretelling #arcsignups #fairytaleretelling #microtropes #romantasybookrecs by @maggielynnauthor
If Beauty and the Beast began your obsession with romantasy then I HIGHLY recommend this Beauty and the Beast retelling Castle of the Cursed 💜 Beauty and the Beast retelling 💜 standalone romantasy 💜 one-sided enemies to lovers 💜 captor X captive vibes 💜 yearning MMC 💜 “Use Me” 💜 🌶️ Library Scene #romantasybookrecs #beautyandthebeastretelling #fairytaleretelling #enemiestolovers #romantasyreaders by @maggielynnauthor

Alright honestly time… I am an absolute SUCKER for a smart woman and an MMC that is down bad on his KNEES for her! A man that loves a woman for her intelligence is just hot I don’t make the rules 🤷🏼‍♀️ So if you’ve been hunting for some book recs where the FMC has to use her brain to get herself out of some situations and the MMC is quite frankly just obsessed with her then I have the perfect book recs! The book these specific quotes are from is my standalone Beauty and the Beast retelling Castle of the Cursed: Beauty and the Beast Retelling 💜 Standalone Romantasy 💜 Yearning MMC 💜 captor X captive vibes 💜 “Use Me” 💜 🌶️ Library Scene 💜 One-sided enemies to lovers #romantasyrecs #romantasyreaders #readersofinstagram #beautyandthebeastretelling #menwrittenbywomen by @maggielynnauthor
VERY EXCITING (and vague) NEWS ABOUT CASTLE OF THE CURSED! I have some super exciting news coming about Castle of the Cursed BUT before I make the announcement I wanted to give you guys a chance to take a vote on something 🤭 I’m also absolutely terrible at making decisions on my own 😅 #romantasyreaders #beautyandthebeastretelling #bookishquestion #readersofinstagram #authorannouncement If you have not read castle of the cursed yet there will be some spoilers ahead in the caption specifically so tread with caution! You can still look at the vibes of each scene and cite that way without reading the caption to avoid spoilers! Last warning SPOILERS ARE IN THE NEXT CAPTIONS SCENE 1: - this will take place after the last chapter of castle of the cursed but before the epilogue - it will show some more insight on why azalea and Braxton decide to finally venture out of the castle - much more sweet and heartwarming SCENE 2: - this would take place fairly soon after the last chapter and much longer prior to the epilogue - with azalea having her memories back she starts to miss baking - Braxton plans a date where he excused all the kitchen staff so they could have a baking date together - things get a little hot in the kitchen if you catch my drift 👀 SCENE 3: - this would be after the epilogue - azalea wants to get the tattoo she believes she’s waited long enough for now - again a much more sweet and emotional bonus scene Please save me from having to make this decision alone!! Comment which scene you would most like to read below! Okay I love you babes!!! by @maggielynnauthor
Reducing a book only to the intimate or spicy moments that happen between the characters falling in love with each other is wild behavior to me! There is so much depth in the relationships being built that go beyond the FMC getting her back cracked! Haven’t talked about the Marked series in a hot minute so also loved the excuse to share 🤭 Book Title: Marked By Destiny 💙 Chosen One 💙 Found Family 💙 Slow Burn 💙 Destiny Birthmarks 💙 Imperfect FMC 💙 Quest / Adventures #fantasyromancebooks #loveconfessions #lovequotes #romantasybookrecs #romantasyreaders by @maggielynnauthor
While Romance in Chicago was in no way the event I expected it to be I cannot say enough about how incredible the authors and readers who went are! I’m grateful for the connections I got to make while there! Plus the room was pretty so at least I got to stare at that in the downtime while I edited my Peter Pan retelling 😅 #authorsigning #signingevent #chicagoauthor #indieauthorsofinstagram #authorlife by @maggielynnauthor
Forever grateful for the chance, opportunity, and experiences brought by attending signings but…we definitely be tired 😂😅 One of the benefits (besides meeting the amazing authors and readers who did come to the show) of Romance in Chicagos low attendance was that we got plenty of time to be goofballs while filming content 😅 Video inspo: @authorljandrews - if you haven’t definitely go watch her version of this because it’s hilarious 😂 #authorhumor #booksigningevent #booksigning #authorlife by @maggielynnauthor
