Blame the croquette ASMR videos for this one! 🧀✨

After watching one too many videos of impossibly crisp, golden croquettes being cracked open, I simply had to make some.

Mine aren’t hollow or particularly fancy, but they have everything I love. Buttery potatoes, Parmesan, fresh parsley, a generous chunk of cheese and that glorious panko crust that makes all the difference.

Crispy outside, soft and cheesy inside. So simple, so comforting, and ridiculously good when eaten hot!

And a little advice from a food stylist? Don’t photograph the first batch. Just eat it. Trust me on this one. 😄

While my feed is slowly filling up with pumpkins, cinnamon and Halloween treats, I somehow ended up baking a lemon loaf cake. 🍋

I blame the lemons sitting in my refrigerator.

I’ve always loved anything fresh and citrusy, and this loaf turned out exactly how I wanted it—soft, moist, fragrant with lemon zest and made even more tender with Greek yogurt and olive oil.

It was one of those long days for all four of us, and when everyone finally got home, we gathered around for our little evening ritual. Tea for us, warm milk for the kids, and 15–20 minutes of chatting about our day before homework, workouts and dinner preparation took over again.

A simple slice of lemon cake made that ordinary moment feel a little more special.
Maybe not very autumnal, but definitely worth baking. The recipe is up on the blog with the link in the bio.

I have grown to love about making bread—the messy flour, the sticky dough and that moment when everything slowly comes together into one beautifully soft, smooth ball.

Kneading used to make me slightly apprehensive. Now I actually look forward to it.

These are certainly not my attempt at perfectly shaped restaurant-style naan. They are smaller, rustic, wonderfully soft homemade ones, cooked on a hot pan until blistered and finished with a generous brush of garlic butter.

And paired with a bowl of chole? Absolutely delicious.

Sometimes the slightly imperfect homemade version is exactly what you want.

Save this one for your next curry night.

Some recipes start with an idea. This one started with my daughter refusing to order anything else. 🤍

There is a particular chicken curry at a restaurant here in the UAE that she absolutely loves. Every visit meant the same order — chicken curry and rice — and nothing else on the table could compete.

So I decided to recreate that comforting flavour at home.

And the best part?

Her plate was completely clean.

Then came the sweetest question:
“Can I have some more?”

For me, that is always the best review.

Creamy Labneh Chicken Curry — rich, tender, comforting and made for generous spoonfuls over hot rice.

There’s always that little in-between moment when one season has technically arrived, but the previous one is still hanging around.

The temperatures are still high, nectarines are still sitting beautifully in the supermarket aisles, and yet my kids are already planning Halloween. So this loaf somehow became the perfect reflection of where we are right now.

Juicy nectarines, toasted walnuts and cinnamon folded into a soft, moist loaf — a little bit of summer, a little bit of autumn, and not quite ready to choose between the two.

I love those pockets of soft, almost jammy nectarine against the warm cinnamon crumb and crunchy walnuts. A very simple bake, but one that feels especially right for this time of year.

Tiramisu, but make it bite-sized… and give it a little orange twist. 🍊

These Orange Tiramisu Balls are soft, creamy and deeply indulgent, with espresso, mascarpone and cocoa balanced by the freshness of orange zest.

What I love most is how something so easy can feel so luxurious. A generous cocoa coating, a little whipped mascarpone and that subtle citrus note make every bite rich without feeling too heavy.

Simple. Elegant. Slightly unexpected. And very difficult to stop at one.

Would you try orange in your tiramisu?

Have you ever eaten a whole roasted eggplant?

Because I think I might be addicted to it now.

There is something so satisfying about cutting into a roasted eggplant and finding that beautifully soft, almost buttery centre. Pair it with a creamy base of whipped labneh and tahini and it practically melts in your mouth.

Then comes the contrast — warm garlic chilli butter, toasted walnuts for crunch and lots of fresh dill to bring everything back to life.

Creamy, nutty, spicy, fresh and incredibly simple.

A light Middle Eastern-inspired plate that proves sometimes the vegetable really can be the main event.

Save this one if you love eggplant as much as I do.

Soft ivory coconut fudge, crushed pistachios, dried rose petals and just enough texture from toasted sesame.

This Coconut Cream & Pistachio Burfi is one of those recipes that looks beautifully festive without asking for too much effort in the kitchen. Rich, creamy and incredibly soft, it has that melt-in-the-mouth texture I always look for in a good burfi.

I especially love the contrast of the pale coconut base with the vivid green pistachios and scattered rose petals — simple ingredients, but such a striking finish.

A beautiful little sweet for the festive season. Recipe for coconut cream burfi is up on the blog with the link in the bio.

This plate was supposed to be a quick lunch for one… then it looked this good.

Roasted sweet potato and red pepper hummus, a golden pan-seared cauliflower steak, chilli butter, fresh mint and parsley, and little pops of pomegranate.

Creamy, smoky, buttery, fresh, slightly sweet and with just enough heat.

I loved the colour of this hummus so much that I had to make the whole dish again just to shoot it properly.

Sometimes the most effortless meals turn into the prettiest ones.

After making the classic steamed modak, I wanted to create another sweet that feels equally close to my heart — Sandesh.

This version is made with paneer, saffron, pistachios and condensed milk, shaped into little modaks and finished with a touch of silver leaf. Soft, creamy, slightly grainy and beautifully fragrant, every bite carries the richness of saffron and the nuttiness of pistachio.

There is something so special about taking a familiar sweet and dressing it up for a festival. 💛

May Lord Ganesh bless us all with courage, strength, wisdom and happiness, and remove every obstacle from our path.
