POSTS STORIES REELS

The news is out and I am so, so grateful!
This book has been incubating inside my brain for quite a while, and with this generous grant from @penamerica I will be able to finish it! Mil gracias to judges @kimberlybrubakerb @janaemarksbooks and @thirdrex - I can't wait to bring Hero's story to fruition. by @magpiewrites

Alex Villasante (@magpiewrites) has always loved telling stories through books and art.

Her latest release ‘Fireblooms’ is a young adult speculative slow burn romance about two teens, navigating a futuristic town, where technology restricts speech to prevent bullying and hate speech.

This was the first book I finished while immersive reading and I highly recommend the audio book.

I made pan de muerto today and put it on my ofrenda for three of the five people in this photo. Here we are, my parents and my grandmothers in my abuela Yuyu’s garden in Montevideo, sometime after I graduated college. My sister and I come from a long line of luchadoras y curanderas. I remember them- an unbroken chain because even death can’t break these connections. And onward we go. by @magpiewrites
