A gentleman footballer is not a man who plays well.

He is a man who plays hard, shakes the hand of whoever beat him, and then goes
home and dresses like an adult.

He competes without cheating. He wins without gloating. He loses without
excuses. And he understands that how you carry yourself off the pitch says more
than anything you did on it.

Swipe through. Then tag the man you know who fits.

The boots are gone.
The knees have opinions.
The love has not moved an inch.

The number ten on the chest.
The ball held close.

The game remains part of the soul, even when we no longer play.

Every great match begins long before kick off. In the quiet of the dressing room. In the plan sketched on the inside of the lid. In the decision to arrive properly dressed.

The gentleman footballer knows that elegance is a form of respect. For the game, for his opponent, for every room he walks into.

On the chest, a small leather pentagon. A single number. The one every boy dreamed of wearing on his back. The maestro’s number.

Editorial storytelling that honors football legacy and celebrates Number 10 legends. Zidane’s vision and elegance turned football into ballet. Off the pitch, these icons understood the importance of presence.

Perhaps no other match is as synonymous with the legend of a number 10 as this one. The context of this match added layers of tension and drama. The first of Maradona's two legendary goals came in the 51st minute.

Joyeux anniversaire, Alain. @boghossianalain14

Merci a vie!

Born in Digne. Raised in the Marseille academy. Then Italy came calling, and he answered. Napoli. Sampdoria. Parma.

In 1999, he lifted the UEFA Cup with Parma, against the very club that had raised him. Some stories write themselves.

The summer before, he had already reached the summit. World champion with France in 1998. One of the men who gave a whole country the night it will never forget.

A midfielder who did the hard work so others could shine. Respected in every dressing room he ever walked into.

And here he is, on set, smiling, with the number ten on his chest.

Pure class.
Pure TENLEGEND.

Merci, Alain, and happy birthday from all of us.

London. The Palladium.

For the first time, the Ballon d’Or left Paris. Seventy years after Stanley Matthews won the very first one, it came home to England.

And a boy from London walked through the crowd to collect it.

Harry Kane.

Black tie. Hair slicked back. The same composed expression he has worn in every penalty box in Europe.

Sixty-one goals in fifty-one games for Bayern. A season of relentless, quiet excellence. The first Englishman to lift the golden ball since 2001.

He never campaigned for it. He has said he never liked talking about himself. He let the goals speak, one after another, until the whole world had to listen.

That is the gentleman’s way.
Play the game to win.
Leave the noise to others.

Congratulations, @harrykane

What boy upon first exposure to Bond wouldn’t want to be this guy? Bond first came to life through the pen of author Ian Fleming. What magic lies in the makeup of 007 that keeps us coming back?

Dennis Bergkamp at Newcastle, March 2002. Still argued about in every pub in England.

Did he mean it? Yes or no.

We know integrity when we see it. As players we make a promise and deliver on that promise through action. As part of a bigger picture, we hold ourselves and each other accountable.
