For those quick to judge — here’s our response. 🫰🏻🤍 Hello. We want to make our position clear: Makara Wear does not support Russia’s war against Ukraine. We stand with Ukraine and its people. We have a question for the accounts that shared information about Makara Wear: to those spreading hate, what are you doing to help Ukraine? Why not also share the fact that our brand supports Ukraine? Why not support our work, purchase accessories that fund aid, or share information about how people can help? Our community is united by freediving, a love for the ocean, and respect for nature. It includes people of many nationalities, including Russians. Sending three swimsuits to members of this community does not mean endorsing their government or its war. We judge people by their actions and values, rather than their passports alone. Our home photographer @elenakolyasova and many of our models are Ukrainian. All proceeds from our accessories collection go towards supporting Ukraine, providing food and essential supplies. These are concrete actions and an ongoing commitment. Lithuania often presents itself as a country that stands with Ukraine, yet sometimes we forget to support our own community. Instead, public conversations too often become dominated by hostility, envy, and rushed judgments. Similarly, accomplished Lithuanian scientists and philosophers often receive far less recognition than they deserve. This shows that, as a society, we still have room to grow. We understand that sending packages to Russia raises sensitive and legitimate questions. However, accusing us of supporting the war misrepresents both our position and our actions. When sharing information about our brand, we ask that you present the full context—including the support Lithuanian creators provide to Ukraine.
