Behind every pink ribbon is a story. A fighter. A survivor. A loved one we wish was still here.

At the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach, thousands came together for something bigger than ourselves.

Some walked in celebration.
Some walked in remembrance.
Some walked for someone still fighting.

But everyone walked with PURPOSE.

Seeing families, survivors, volunteers, and supporters come together was a powerful reminder of what community is all about.

It’s not just about showing up when things are easy. It’s about standing together when it matters most.

We walk for hope. We walk for strength. We walk for a future without breast cancer.

A huge THANK YOU to all the students, families, and faculty who came out on Saturday for the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach.

Together, Grand Avenue Cares 2026! has raised $9,448 and currently ranks 28 out of 1,161 teams! 🎉👏 What a tremendous accomplishment and surpassed your 2025 $6,000+ proceeds.
American Cancer Society contacted me directly to say what a phenomenal job you all did.

RFE.BLK correspondent Nadgeena Jerome recently attended the Long Island Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Jones Beach to raise awareness, celebrate survivors and highlight the importance of early detection, especially in Black women.

🎀 On October 18, the Makofsky Valente team came together at Jones Beach to support breast cancer awareness and research! 🎗️

Thanks to the incredible generosity of staff, clients, family and friends, we raised $5,631 and ranked #46 out of 1,162 teams! We are so grateful to everyone who donated, walked with us, and supported this important cause. Together, we’re making a difference! ❤️

Yesterday was so much fun! We enjoyed meeting everyone at the walk and were grateful we got to experience it.

We are still raising funds for the rest of the month. Every Pink Cocktail purchased in October will be donated to all the work the American Cancer Society does on behalf of breast cancer programs & research.
