I JUST BOUNCE BACK 🥊

Malachi Urquhart didn't find boxing through childhood dreams of championship belts.

He found it after an altercation at the beach and an uncle who decided it was time he learned to fight his own battles.

Years later, an Australian amateur title led him into the professional ranks. But a disappointing draw, followed by a lengthy injury layoff, tested his resolve.

“I don't get too low on my lows and I don't get too high on my highs either.”

In August, he returned with a third-round stoppage victory.

Now, on December 5, he faces Joshua Shannon in an advertised Queensland Super Middleweight State Championship contest.

But when Malachi talks about becoming champion, he doesn't start with rankings or bigger fights.

He talks about his nieces and nephews being able to say their uncle was Queensland champion.

“I just bounce back after things don't go my way.”

An exclusive conversation about setbacks, family, belief and knowing when it's time to fight.
