👾 DashBox 🎮 This project was made at @ecal_mid , during the block week: Talk to me Code / Sound Design / Editing: @pachastudi0 Object Design / 3D Animation / Editing: @malcolm.smd Supervised by: @notdefineda Assistant + Footages: @liviamschmid by @malcolm.smd
🔥 Wild Destroyer 🌲 In this web project, you’ll build your own infrastructures at different environmental sites. Using wooden cubes, you’ll construct structures that are then transformed into unique AI-generated buildings.
CAB (Centre d’Architecture Brutaliste) A visual identity proposal for CAB, an imaginary art gallery dedicated to Brutalist architecture. The visuals were initially created using a web-based tool, then developed and adapted across different contexts, from posters and printed materials to merchandise and other applications. Made at @ecal_mid , in the 2nd semester course of Dynamic Display by @malcolm.smd
📱 Tabula 📱 Begin with an empty environment, with nothing but a dome. Assisted by Zenith, your guiding bot, you progressively construct your world through structured interactions with the tablet. this project was made at @ecal_mid , supervised by @valeriomeschi Made with Blender + Unreal Engine 5 + Figma by @malcolm.smd
🎼 Truchet Soundtoy 🎼 I was assigned the mathematical concept of Truchet tiles. Using it, I created a satisfying web sound toy where you generate particles that move along paths. As these particles cross rings, they trigger sounds which, when combined, form a short and pleasing melody. This project was made at @ecal_mid , in the 2nd semester course of Creative Coding by @malcolm.smd
3️⃣2️⃣ Countdown 1️⃣0️⃣ During our countdown block week, I built an interactive countdown made up of distinct particle systems — each with its own unique interaction. To get to the next number, you had to find your own way to reveal or erase the one before it. Made at @ecal_mid , supervised by Mario von Rickenbach by @malcolm.smd
🕒24h Roadway Mouvements🛣️ This project is a digital clock with a visual system that displays time in four ways: Abstract / Suggest / Show / and Catharsis (at 12am).I wanted the main visual to consist of rectangles that move within set intervals to indicate the passage of time. The final visuals are designed to be displayed on a flip-dot screen. This project was made at @ecal_mid , in the 1st semester course: Dynamic Display by @malcolm.smd
Made this quick and simple greace pencil and flat shading scene in my free time :D by @malcolm.smd
🖼️ Past Motion 🧊 In this project, I had to take an existing art piece and turn it into a short 3D animation. So I chose the painting The Burning Giraffe by Salvador Dalí, because I saw some potential to experiment with a bunch of techniques that I didn’t often use in my other 3D projects (such as sculpting the characters, bone animations, looped cloth simulations, etc.). This project was made during the @ecal_mid course: 3D Sequence. Supervised by: @elodidthat by @malcolm.smd
🏝️Paradis🏝️ This edition project is a collection of collages created from photographs I took in Cabo Verde in 2023. Through an experimental and tactile manipulation of these images, I aim to express my personal relationship with the country. Cabo Verde is often celebrated for its stunning landscapes, yet its history of colonialism and its ongoing socioeconomic challenges are less widely acknowledged. This work explores the tension between the idyllic and the unspoken, revealing layers beyond the postcard image. This project was made during the Foundation Year, at ECAL in 2025. by @malcolm.smd
