She doesn’t have to choose between being successful and being a mother. Success looks different for every woman.

“Where have you been all summer? You haven’t posted much work!”

Well… I walked away for a while.

Nothing inspired me. Nothing excited me. And honestly, nothing felt good enough. I’d finish a job, look at it again, and wonder why I disliked it the moment it was ready to deliver.

My mind felt blank, foggy. I had no vision, no excitement, no real connection to what I was creating.

So instead of forcing it, I stepped away.

And now I’m slowly finding my way back by going back to the thing that made me fall in love with creating in the first place: art.

This self-portrait is my way of visualising what I’ve been feeling and, in many ways, what I’m still going through.

...the creativity isn’t gone. I just needed some space. 🖤
