It's time for a check-in - the realities of life since surgery.

AD: The most beautiful accessible autumnal day spent in the country with Sakara

Although the gardens are now closed for the winter period, there's still plenty coming up in the calendar at Exbury Gardens. From night train rides (which sound glorious), through to donkeys and even a fair, the place will be bustling with activity into the holiday period. Visit their website to see what's on: @exburygardens

If ever you needed an example, this day was illustrative of how stunning the gardens are year-round. Come rain or shine, Exbury is always the ideal spot for an adventure and some time in nature.

I'm a connoisseur of a sweet treat ✨ Bonus points if it's Disney shaped!

@inkfirelimited Co-founder, Imali, who is also a Lilac Centre Advisory Board member, joined us in Southampton last week at the final stop on our mini tour around the UK, with Barclays and @eaglelabs

It’s always great to catch up and was particularly nice to be able to visit Imali near to where she is based, to find out more about the realities of running a business on the south coast, as a Disabled founder. by @mali.and.m.e

Autumn is a full-time job actually 🍂

There are dungarees to wear. Pumpkins to hold. Decorative gourds to become emotionally attached to. I don’t make the rules, I just follow them.

VD:
1: Three-photo collage at a pumpkin patch, showing me in a brown pumpkin-print dungaree set and a green wheelbarrow. The text reads: “October looks good on you.”
2: I am holding a pumpkin in a field, with a playful camera-interface overlay and orange stars. Text reads: “Consider this your sign…”
3: I am lying amongst scattered pumpkins (yes, I regretted that when I tried to get up!), holding a small pumpkin above my face. Text reads: “to romanticise autumn,”
4: I am standing in the pumpkin field holding a pumpkin beside my face. Text reads: “to dress for the season,”
5: Looking down at black footwear amongst orange pumpkins and green foliage. Text reads: “to pick the perfect pumpkin,”
6: Close-up of a large textured orange pumpkin held towards the camera. Text reads: “to make ordinary days feel a little more special,”
7: A pile of orange, yellow and cream pumpkins in the field. Text reads: “to soak up the season…”
8: I am standing in the pumpkin field holding a pumpkin in front of the face, with small illustrated stars above. Text reads: “more autumn adventures, please.”

AD: No more fighting with bottles of laundry liquid - laundry sheets have arrived!

These 5-in-1 detergent sheets smell incredible and have made doing my washing so much more accessible for me. I love it when I find things that genuinely help me to be more independent, and save money!

What do you think, would you give them a go?

AD PR gifted: All views and opinions are my own.

VD: A white woman, with curly brown hair, wearing a brown and orange pumpkin dungaree set. She is sitting in a wheelchair, holding a bottle of laundry liquid and a box of laundry sheets.

A huge shout out to our brilliant Lilac Centre mentors this National Mentoring Day!

We're so grateful to all the fantastic business experts who give their time, share their knowledge and support Disabled entrepreneurs through our mentoring programme.

Did you know that research from the Lilac Review found that 51% of Disabled founders identified mentoring and networking as essential to turning their ideas into sustainable businesses?

The Review also highlighted a gap in traditional business support when it comes to opportunities to learn from other Disabled entrepreneurs.

That's why lived experience is so important to us. Being able to connect with someone who understands first-hand the challenges and opportunities you might encounter as a Disabled founder can make such a difference.

A massive thank you to all our mentors, and to the team at @lloydsbankbusiness for working with us on this.

There are far too many of you to celebrate in one post, so keep an eye out for the next one. We haven't forgotten you!

Images show a collection of seven photographs celebrating Lilac Centre mentors, featuring business owners and experts at events, speaking on stage, taking part in conversations and posing for portraits.

Time for a Disneyland merch haul... which piece was your favourite?
I love the array of shops at Disneyland Paris - you really can find the most unique things.

Galavanting with @sakaradee during October 🍂 How we do love an adventure (and coffee!)...

AD | The best disability-related item I took to Disneyland Paris! ♿️✨
Honestly, where has this been all my life?!

This Flexi Phone Holder from @theactivehandsco is a must-have! As someone with tremors and involuntary movements, my phone has a habit of suddenly ending up on the floor, especially when it’s balanced on my lap while I’m wheeling around. This has completely changed that.

It uses a really clever Fidlock vacuum system, with magnets helping your phone snap into place and a vacuum seal holding it securely. So I can just pop my phone onto the grip and wheel around without constantly worrying about sending it flying.

The thing I loved MOST was being able to have the Disneyland Paris map and navigation right in front of me while I wheeled. No having to keep stopping, getting my phone out, checking where I was going and putting it away again. It was just there whenever I needed it!

Now I'm back, I use it all the time day-to-day too and I wouldn't want to be without it.

If you want to try one, you can get 10% off with my code MaliFPH10 at:
www.activehands.com/product/flexi-phone-holder/

They also have another version that clips on both sides and is designed to be compatible with a DSLR camera, which looks SO cool and is now firmly on my list.

AD: PR gifted product, but all thoughts are my own. I genuinely love this! by @mali.and.m.e
