OUT NOW: ‘The Holy Eucharist of His Transcendental Love and Flesh’ by Zezijn Hexen @mallmagick

‘The Holy Eucharist Of His Transcendental Love And Flesh’ is the debut release by Zezijn Hexen, a conceptually formidable work following the journey of a soul travailing an ominous underworld through the juxtaposing forms of ritualistic creation, liturgical magnitude, cavernous texture and ferocious sound.

Weighted, droning tones anchor the tracks whilst shards of howling feedback, screeching, strangled electronics and warped, contorted voices bleed through the mellifluous miasma. A sense of being submerged into successive hallucinatory environments pervades throughout, each perpetuating upon the last and snaking ever downward.

The passage through the blackened spaces of ‘The Holy Eucharist…’, however sinister and desolate, also hold a sombre reverence and an intimidating countenance. These tracks hold both the threatening, scorched-earth delirium and the mournful exaltation of the sublime in its balance. Zezijn Hexen has created a work that combines the oppressively sepulchral and powerfully rhapsodic with the diligence and assurance of a soul in ecstasis.

“MallMagick’s first tape ‘A Study on Tension’ is an intentional working that examines accumulations of sound through sound collage... it explores the tension between man and objects of proximity, excavating sound through repetition and gradual, incremental intensity or resolution... Structured as both a study and documentary of sound, it is composed of raw field recordings as source material with objects used as literal track titles.”

MallMagick is the experimental solo work of Victoria Ferrer. Footage overlayed on an excerpt of track 1: “Leaves, Glass, Train to Hamburg.”

Order “The Study on Tension” on Philatélie.
Also available for digital download/streaming.

I want to give a great big thank you to everyone who pre-ordered and purchased MallMagick’s first tape, ‘A Study on Tension.’

I really wanted to capture the magick of my personal interactions with everyday sounds; playing with my environment, with objects of mundanity and the things we so often take for granted. In childlike play, I’m immersed in my surroundings, evolving from dream to madness; studying the tension and all the other emotions that emerge from such an exchange.

Your support means everything to me. 🖤
Available now on Philatélie.
