🌸 The Story Behind Teeyan & Teej 🌸

From the sacred story of Shiv–Parvati and Maa Parvati’s devotion, to the beautiful Punjabi tradition of married daughters returning to their peke during the month of Sawan — Teeyan & Teej carries generations of stories, emotions and traditions. 💚🌿

Sawan was a time when daughters came home, reunited with their mothers, sisters and friends, enjoyed peenghan, mehendi, boliyan and giddha, and celebrated womanhood and togetherness. 💃🏻💕

Grateful to Rogers TV for giving us the opportunity to share the meaning, mythology and beautiful story behind Teeyan & Teej — and why keeping these traditions alive for our next generation matters so much. 🙏🏼✨
