Kuari Top - 12,516 Feet 21-03-2024 ❤️ What are men to rocks and mountains? by @manojammoga
Roopkund was never just about reaching a destination. It was about the long walks, the endless mountain trails, the changing landscapes, the exhaustion, the unexpected moments, and the feeling of being surrounded by the mighty Himalayas. Every day brought something different, and every step became a memory worth keeping. Looking back, it wasn't just a trek through the mountains, but a journey that will always stay with me. 🏔️ #RoopkundTrek #Himalayas #TrekkingDiaries #MountainStories #Uttarakhand by @manojammoga
My last trek was in October 2025. A year later, I finally found my way back to the mountains. The last year hasn’t been easy. Coming back to Bangalore after living and working in the mountains meant confronting parts of myself I hadn’t quite figured out. The mountains had been my solace, my peace, and my strength. Finding my footing in the city again was difficult. I’ve often wondered whether I was escaping reality or chasing the thrill of the unknown. Maybe a little of both. But somewhere along the way, I began working towards becoming a better person. From someone whose anger could hurt the people he loved to being compared to MS Dhoni for staying composed, I know I’ve come a long way. I haven’t figured everything out, but I’ve learnt that change is possible. Injuries, setbacks, and time away from the mountains made finding my way back even harder. That’s why returning to Roopkund meant more than just completing another trek. The mountains have a way of reminding you how small you are, while somehow making the weight on your mind feel lighter. They’ve taught me patience, slow living, and the importance of appreciating the little things. Perhaps life was never about choosing between the mountains and the city. Maybe it’s about finding balance, carrying the lessons you’ve learnt, and making room for the things that make you feel alive. Your skills, resilience, and leadership travel with you. So does the belief that you can keep getting better, one step at a time. To Aditya and Rohan, thank you for giving me another chance to find my place in this ecosystem. It means a lot, especially after a year that has tested me in ways I didn’t expect. To @devtrails.in , thank you for opening this door again and giving me the opportunity to build experiences that might help others discover what the mountains have given me. I’m still figuring things out. My body has its own timelines, and life has its uncertainties. But I’m learning to be a little more patient with myself. You can take the man out of the mountains, but you can never take the mountains out of the man. 🏔️ Roopkund | October 2026 by @manojammoga
A little snow, a window of good weather, and a journey into the heart of the Himalayas. 🏔️✨ Our pilot group successfully completed the Roopkund trek, navigating challenging snow conditions from the previous week and making the most of a beautiful weather window to complete the journey safely. Roopkund is a trek that takes you through ever-changing landscapes, from dense forests to the vast meadows of Ali and Bedni Bugyal, some of Asia’s largest alpine meadows. Leaving the grasslands behind, the trail climbs into the higher mountains, leading towards Roopkund through rugged, rocky terrain that can get tricky, especially in snowy conditions. It’s been a beautiful journey filled with challenges, stunning landscapes, and unforgettable moments. And we’re just getting started! We’ll be opening new batches for the next spring season. 🌿 Stay tuned. The mountains are calling again! "Dami dami, aaha!" That's genuinely what you hear up here, before dawn, after dawn, every time the clouds decide to put on a show. Not planned, not translated. Just what comes out of people the first time they see this. Seven days along the India-Nepal border. Four of the world's five highest peaks, split across two directions. Skies that don't repeat themselves once, on a ridge most people have never heard of. Comment SANDAKPHU if this just went straight to your bucket list. And the thing about bucket lists is you don't actually have to wait for them. You can choose this sooner than you think, with us. Walk the Trail. Last time I was on a trail was October. Then January happened, and just like that, the identity I'd spent two years building in the mountains wasn't something I could carry back to Bangalore. This year has been hard in ways I didn't expect. Not being able to walk without things flaring up, again and again, taught me more about patience than any summit ever has. The last two, three weeks, I put in some ankle rehab with Rohan, my partner at DevTrails, who helped me get back into some kind of shape. And then I took a chance and said yes to an 18km day on Kudremukh. Wasn't sure I'd make it. Went anyway, with Geeta, someone I'd never trekked with before, and a guide Mr. Bhojegowdru who kept us going without making a thing of it. I didn't come back at a hundred percent. But somewhere on that trail, I found a version of myself I'd stopped expecting to meet again. Grateful for all the support through this, for Anush and Pepper Coffee Homestay for feeding us like family, and for a mountain that was patient enough to wait. I am back. by @manojammoga

Every trail has a beginning. This one has two, each guarded by a different god. From Hanumanchatti, where Bhima once could not lift a monkey's tail blocking his path, to Dodital, said to be the exact place Ganesha was born. Two valleys, one trail between them, and a story at each end most people never hear. Comment DODITAL and we'll DM you the details. Walk the Trail.
