Week 41 - Man O'War

Trip to the outskirts at €6 a pint and €2.05 a litre for diesel. No budget needed here. by @manowarpub

How we plan on spending our Bank holiday Sunday, music in the bar from 9:30pm #bankholidaysunday #asundaywellspentbringsaweekofcontent by @manowarpub

After our stay in the North and our plans to meet up with friends in the South our trip accelerated as he headed down the East coast and the next 2 days included;

🥾A hike in the Mourne Mountains at Rostrevor where we saw the Cloughmore Stone a giant boulder above Kilbroney Park on the slopes of Slieve Martin. There were also spectacular views of Carlingford Lough and out towards the Cooley Mountains.

🍺An overnight pub stop (free overnight parking in the car park) at the Man O’ War gastro pub near Balbriggan (20 miles north of Dublin). We’d highly recommend a stop here in an area where there isn’t an abundance of campsites. It’s a very traditional pub with a nice restaurant and completely separate bar in an adjoining building. There were 2 other vans staying overnight and we met a German couple who were staying a 2nd night so that they could catch the live Irish music. The large car park was full until it emptied out late in the evening.

🏡A stop in Bray 15 miles south of Dublin, where we walked in the cliffs and also visited Kilruddery House and Gardens (stunning 17th century formal gardens)

⚓️A visit to Wicklow town where we enjoyed a stroll around the town and the harbour.

🚐An overnight stay at Moneylands Farm near Arklow (45 miles south of Dublin). This family run farm offers various accommodations including B&B and self catering cottages. It has space for about a dozen motorhomes and has toilets and showers, chemical and (drive over) grey waste and for €25 was a good value stay with nice views over farmland.
