It’s been a long time coming but now I’m making a drastic much needed shift in my career, an exciting and challenging one. I’m adding to my layers of experience in branding, marketing, and building brick-and-mortar businesses to designing scalable digital products that solve bigger, more globally relevant problems.

Let me put it this way: I build things. I turn ideas into reality. Thats who I and what I do. But a builder is only as good as his tools and skills. I’ve spent years building businesses and brands for the present, helping other businesses and brands tell their stories, grow, and succeed. Now, it’s time to build for the future.

This transition is about depth. To solve bigger problems, I need to develop deeper skills. That’s why I’m fully immersing myself in product design, at the intersection of AI, big data, and emerging technologies. My goal is to create solutions that don’t just impact businesses but also shape economies. This is why I’m also taking a short course on economics for public policy at Oxford University, to understand how products influence the world at scale.

The goal is to influence the global economy, so think of this as my entrance into the digital economy. As I embrace this new phase at Kora, it also means stepping away, temporarily from some of the projects I’ve poured my heart into. Gird, Banisoro, and Flevor will be on hold from me, along with my branding, and consulting services. It’s a new season, and I need to go all in. I’m only taking a few public speaking engagements for this reason.

But here’s the thing: I’m still the same David. Still a designer. Still a builder. Still passionate about solving problems and creating impact. The only difference? Now, I’m focused on designing solutions that are bigger, smarter, and built for the future.

I’ll be sharing this journey with you, taking a slightly different route to the same destination. And for those who’ve followed my branding work, I’ll make sure the branding resources I’ve been working on are released as this transition fully kicks in.

Some weeks ago, @marcellasalako told me about a photo series she was launching for entrepreneurs. And her goal was to showcase what they are about through pictures.

I told her I was down for it. And a week ago, we had the shoot.
