It’s that time of year… the clocks fall back, and suddenly it’s getting dark EARLY! Starting Monday, November 9, we’ll be closing the Farm Store at 5 PM instead of 6 PM. And just a reminder… we do stay OPEN ALL YEAR LONG! Just as we have for the past handful of winters, after Christmas we simply close on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Shorter days, same farm goodness. by @marchfarm
Give me some of that apple pie!!! These ladies have their system DOWN in order to crank out enough apple pies to get us through the holidays and all the way until next fall! And with that being said, NOW is the time to order your Thanksgiving pies and other goodies! Take a look at our menu through the link in our Instagram profile, or use the link below on Facebook. Go ahead… get yourself a piece of the pie!!! https://march-farm.square.site by @marchfarm
Figured I’d give you a few days post-Halloween before I started pummeling you with Thanksgiving posts. Welp, it’s been a few days, and basically tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Yep, that’s how it goes. It is the holiday season, and before you know it, it’s not only gonna be Thanksgiving, but then it’s gonna be Christmas seemingly THE NEXT DAY. Soooo do yourself a favor and check one thing off your list. Your Thanksgiving pies. But that’s not all we’re offering this year! Take a look at our menu by clicking the link in our profile above on Instagram, or, if you’re on Facebook, use the link below. We’ve had a beautiful season thus far. Such a bounty of crops! But the reality is, there were FIVE hilltop days this year we had to cancel. That’s a lot of hilltop days during our peak season, so we have some catching up to do! We are willing and ready for your orders! Thank you for continuing to support our family farm! https://march-farm.square.site by @marchfarm
It's clean up time, and with these bounce houses, everybody helps! by @marchfarm
We’re trying it again! Last year, rain put a damper on our goat-hiking plans, but as of right now, this Saturday looks clear—and what better time to frolic around the farm than in the fall? Join Kristen and her adorable goats for a little fresh air, fall scenery, and four-legged fun. These hiking buddies are sure to keep things entertaining! The hike lasts approximately one hour and costs $5 per person or $10 per family. Space is limited, so please RSVP at (203) 645-4272 to save your spot! Hope to see you Saturday! Let's goat for a farm hike!!! by @marchfarm
The beautiful weather continues through Wednesday, and so, our farm hike opportunity does too! ☀️ Enter across the street from the playground. You’ll see signs that say “Farm Hike,” and from there, feel free to explore wherever your heart takes you. We just ask that you stay away from the greenhouses. Hiking is open during Farm Store hours only, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. And if you feel like visiting the white rock at the top of the hill, you’ll find a plastic bin with a notebook inside. We’ve left it there for anyone who feels compelled to leave a note. Enjoy! We sure do ❤️ by @marchfarm
Remember back in spring when these mommas calved 🍁🤎 Getting big lil' ones. by @marchfarm
It’s our tradition to send these guys back home with a party!!! To celebrate THEM. Hardworking, kind, reliable, sincere, patient, dependable, dedicated. Did I mention hardworking? These guys are part of our family farm. We all work together. We all see each other every day. But these guys, they don’t get to go back home at the end of each day to be with their families. I’m sure they call. I’m sure they FaceTime. I’m sure they’ve adapted to that life. Regardless, knowing that in just a few days they’ll be heading back home, I can’t help but be so happy for them. They must be excited. I’m excited for them! Guys, THANK YOU! We are so grateful. So, so grateful that you continue coming back. We COULDN’T do it without you. Wishing you a safe trip home, a well-deserved rest, and lots of time with the people you love. Thank you for all the time you spend away from your own families to be part of ours. ❤️ by @marchfarm
Ladies & Gents, boys & girls, now that I have your attention… as of today, October 30th, apple picking season is officially OVER! All you’ll find out here now are drops, and while I had a pretty fun time creating this video with them, they’re not good for much else. 🙃 Thanks again to all of you who came out and picked! It was an excellent apple crop this year! And while you can’t pick anymore, you can still find our apples pre-picked in the Farm Store! We’re keeping them in cold storage and bringing them out as needed, so there’s still plenty of farm-fresh apple goodness to enjoy! 🍎 (Shoutout to @jesi__jordan for this fun idea.) by @marchfarm
If you've walked these hills, you may have happened by one of our favorite spots on the farm: the White Rock. We’re pretty original around here. If you noticed my post from earlier, you may have read that through Sunday, we’re allowing people to hike the property. No charge, no catch, just a courtesy. I’m just concluding my own walk, but as I was wandering the property this morning, I thought to myself, I’m gonna leave a little box next to the White Rock and encourage visitors to leave us a little message. Whatever it is you feel compelled to share. I’ll leave a pad of paper and a pen in the box. Just please don’t steal them—leave them for the next person! 🩷 I can’t wait to read your messages. Please leave something you’re okay with me sharing on social media because, if you know anything about me, you know I love to spread the good stuff! ❤️ A little reminder: the Farm hike entrance is across the street from the Farm Store. Please stay away from the Bounce House (it's deflated anyways) and the greenhouses. Hiking is welcome during Farm Store hours only, 10 AM–6 PM. Enjoy! And as always, tagged photos are encouraged ☀️🍁 PLEASE NO DOGS :) by @marchfarm
You’ve got until Sunday! And from now until Sunday, this weather… OMG. It is meant to be out in, surrounded by, and completely soaked up. So we’re inviting our customers to hike the farm—for free, no catch, just courtesy! Enter across the street from the playground, head up the hill, and go where your heart leads you. We just ask that you stay away from the bounce house area and the greenhouses, please. Otherwise, there are so many beautiful colors, transitions, contrasts, critters, sunshine… oh, the list goes on! One of my favorite things to do is connect people with this farm and this land. It is meant to be enjoyed, and it feels so good to open up that opportunity to you this week. There is no apple picking up top. No activities, no rides, no mazes, or food, no drinks, and no bounce house. This is just for the simple enjoyment of walking. So individuals, homeschool groups, couples—anyone who’s up for climbing hills, because we do live on a hill farm—come enjoy! ❤️ Store hours only 10-6pm. PLEASE NO DOGS :) by @marchfarm
We’ve wrapped up all of our farmers markets for the season, except for Litchfield! A big thank-you to everyone who shopped with us and supported our farm along the way. ❤️ You can still find us at the Litchfield Farmers Market on Saturdays for a few more weeks from 10 AM–1 PM, now indoors at the Litchfield Firehouse, 258 West Street. Stop by and keep shopping local with us through the colder months! by @marchfarm
