Golden hour over Lake Como and a day that felt less like work and more like being among friends.

@villadelbalbianello at its most timeless: black-tie elegance against the gardens, white orchids, and two people surrounded by everyone who loves them. Thank you for letting us live this one alongside you. It was a privilege from the first light to the last.

There’s a silence right before the “SI” — and the whole room leans into it.

White silk. White lilies. Bare stone overhead and a glance held a second too long.

Some moments you don’t direct. You stay close enough to catch two people being entirely their own.

Where would you say sì? ↓ by @marco_schifa

There’s a specific silence right before a boat touches the dock. That’s where this day starts.

You hear it before you see it. The engine easing off, the water going flat, and then the whole garden turning toward the lake at once. There were maybe forty seconds of that light left on the water, and I spent all of them on her face.

After that @villapizzo just took over. The cypresses, the old terraces, the light dropping down the hill late in the afternoon and turning everything the color of paper.

By dinner we were under the trees, the lake had gone dark, and nobody was looking at the view anymore. They were looking at each other. They danced in those gardens until the lights were the only thing left of the night.

Kristina, Joel, thank you for a day I never once had to direct.

A September wedding in deep South of Italy.

The stillness after the ceremony. Music outside the chapel. Everyone gathered on the steps as they walked out together.

Now accepting a limited number of weddings for 2027. by @marco_schifa

They didn’t rent a venue. They got married in the middle of a town.

No gates, no private estate, no guest list at the door. Just a baroque church, a square that’s been there for three hundred years, and a hundred chairs facing the steps. The quartet set up where the kids usually play football. The Ape with the spritz sign parked in the corner. People stepping out onto their balconies to watch, because that’s what you do when something is happening downstairs.

Then at eight the tambourines started — and there were no shuttles, no transfers, no waiting around. Everyone simply walked to the restaurant across the square.

This is the part I can never explain over email. In Puglia the place doesn’t stay in the background. It joins in.

Simone & Marta didn’t book a venue. They married in the town square.

One piazza, closed for love. Long tables under crystal chandeliers, baroque stone turning gold at sunset, and an entire village as witness. This is Salento: where a wedding isn’t an event, it’s something the whole town feels.

Swipe to the last slide: the piazza from above, at sunset, set like the most beautiful dining room in the world. →

There’s a light in Puglia that doesn’t exist anywhere else.

It falls soft against ancient stone, turns lace into memory, and makes a single glance feel like a whole story. This day held all of it, the quiet before the aisle, a father’s steady arm, a first look that said everything without a word. And when the sun went down, the sparks flew and the celebration began under a sky full of warm light and wildflowers. ✨

Some weddings you photograph. Others you carry with you long after the last frame.

Puglia, you did it again. 🤍 by @marco_schifa

Not every love story needs a big stage.
Some just need an Italian morning, two hands, and a city that makes time slow down.

They came from the USA to Lecce, and everything felt effortless: espresso in a quiet café at @pinti_pasticceria , warm stone streets, sunlight on her dress, and the kind of smiles you can’t really pose.

No rush. No performance.
Just two people, deeply present, turning a simple walk through Italy into something that felt like a movie.

This is why I love photographing couples here.
Not only for the beauty of the place, but for what Italy does to love: it makes it softer, slower, and unforgettable.

Lecce, Puglia — an American love story in Southern Italy.
