25th Anniversary of growing up but never getting old!! by @marcossv427
4 years ago I came across a post of the first ever No Comply, I remember being amazed by how different this event was through a screen and wanted nothing more but to experience it. What I didn’t know that this event took place two hours away from home and that a second No comply was announced. I waited until July and got to finally see this event in person but once I heard @theetabs play the intro for cowboy bebop (one of my fav anime) despite being all alone I knew I was at the right place. 2. I kept going to tabs shows which led to discover more bands, more locations and suddenly the strangers I kept seeing over and over are starting to become familiar. Despite checking out other scenes I kept going back to Louisville, something about this scene was magical. 3-5. At the first ever @rcplouisville I got to meet some incredible people that slowly turn into friends show after show. No Comply 3, ramen fest, sweater fest and all the shows in between became our safe space to hangout and dance outside of our daily life. 5-6. After going to so many local shows, I felt so inspired by the scene. That led me to put together a house show, thanks to @state_retro and @bacheloretteband performing, @katie.dolen for hosting and every person involved in helping me make the best possible show we could’ve done. It was the most stressful thing I have ever planned but it was an event that I cherish everyday for the past year. (AND THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO CAME I LOVE YOU) 8. @muchothesemangos gave me a space where I could grown and experiment as an photographer as well as an artist. The friends behind it are the most talented people to ever exist and being able to kinda tour with them was a dream I never thought I would do. 9. On top of that being able to become the photographer for ramen fest is an opportunity I’m eternally grateful for. 10-11. The final No Comply was a collection of what made all the previous shows amazing, it was the perfect send off to what got me in the scene. Despite No Comply ending it has brought me so many people that I’m super thankful to have them in my life. It is not my city but is definitely my scene, and damn is my scene beautiful. by @marcossv427
