You’re seeing a lot of noise right now about how women should show up at work.

Be visible. Be present. Be in the office.

But here’s the truth.

There is no one way to win.

I’ve worked in corporate.
I’ve worked from home.
I’ve been a stay at home mum.

Each season required a different strategy.

And here’s what I’ve learned.

• Visibility helps, especially in corporate spaces
• Flexibility has helped many women grow into senior roles
• Reduced hours still come with trade-offs

So the real question is not what works best overall.

The question is what works best for you.

• Do you want progression right now
• Do you want flexibility
• Do you want to focus on family

Pick your lane. Then own it.

Do not let anyone online make you feel small for choosing differently.

If you are happy with your results, stand by them.

Their game is for their life.
Yours is for yours.

Tell me in the comments. What game are you playing right now?

One thing I don’t play about is my kids. So when they told me this information, the true Nigerian came out and I was about to blow up the year group chat, but hubby and my sis said I should chill, let the school do their investigation and then take it from there.

I still want to drop a bomb, but I will take a step back and let the process do its thing, but best believe I am watching.

I don’t play about mine.

A little reintroduction before we go into the new year.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year. 🎉🎉🎉

Went to The Beauty Beat with my sister @inthestyleofuzezi and it was SO much fun 💄✨ Trust my sister to bump into her friends everywhere we go 😂

Funny story… back in 2024 I was walking to the station after The Beauty Beat and who did I bump into right by the station? My sister! Two years later and this time we walked in together. Full circle moment 🥹

Love you sis, thank you for making the day so special. Same time next year? 💕

This week’s dinner list is sorted ✅

Fried rice is back on because it didn’t happen last week, and that’s okay. Some weeks the plan changes and life happens. It just rolls over to the next week.

Pizza night, a chicken curry, wraps with spicy potatoes, and a quick pesto pasta for the busy evening. Then leftovers to finish the week, because nothing goes to waste in this house 😅

Planning doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to take away the “what are we eating tonight?” stress.

What’s on your dinner list this week? 👇🏾

Not my usual Monday post…

Five years of The Beauty Beat. I’ve seen the conversations about the goodie bags, the ticket price and the comparisons to retailer events. Those feelings are valid. But there’s a business side most people never see. Retailers host events with brands already on their shelves. An independent founder has to build every partnership from nothing, and the funding climate has changed a lot since 2021. Feedback helps spaces grow. Support helps them survive. Tell me below: which spaces for us are you showing up for? 👇🏾

He said “what’s in the box?” and suddenly I forgot English, my name, and my Amazon password. 📦😂

Married to a financial advisor and still adding to basket. Pray for me. Wives, what’s your go to answer when he asks? 👇🏾

Half term is over and I would like it noted that we survived.

Barely. But we did.

Somewhere between the chest infection, the GP waiting room and the antibiotics, I also became a full time hairdresser. Detangle, wash, cornrows. Fully booked. No tips.

Now the school run is back next week and I am counting school uniform like I am running a military operation. One missing sock and the whole morning is ruined.

I am so ready for the routine to come back. I am also not ready at all. Both of these things are true.

My only prayer right now is that my phone stays quiet once they are back in school.

God. Prayer. And a very large glass of wine.

What are you least ready for next week? Tell me in the comments. by @mariam.asuquo

Your husband cheats on you with your best friend of 22 years… WHILE YOU’RE PREGNANT! 😳💔

Now there’s a newborn baby, a broken marriage and everyone has an opinion. Would you forgive them both or walk away for good? 👀

This week on the 3Ls Podcast, we discuss betrayal, infidelity, forgiveness and whether trust ever fully returns after an affair. We also talk about the rising cost of living in the UK and whether relocating abroad is worth the sacrifice.

Would you stay or leave? Let us know below! 👇

I’d love to say I budget purely because I love it. And I do. But being married to a financial advisor also means someone in this house notices when the Amazon parcels start piling up 👀😂 And apparently “it was on sale” is not considered a valid financial strategy. Trust me, I’ve tried.

Jokes aside, budgeting isn’t about missing out, it’s about choosing on purpose. My kids won’t remember what things cost, but they will remember the memories we made. 💛

Which of these do you do too? Tell me below and save this if you needed the reminder today 👇🏾 by @mariam.asuquo

The Budget dropped today and I went through it so you don’t have to. Not the pensions bit, not the business rates bit. Just the bits that land in a house with kids in it. 🏡

Some help is coming, but most of it doesn’t arrive until 2027. Swipe through, then tell me which one actually makes a difference in your house.

Save this one for January when that £100 should land. 💸

$Top Tip of the Week 🎄 Christmas Jumper Day is around the corner and every shop is suddenly selling the same jumper for £20 a child. Times that by however many kids you’ve got and that’s a whole food shop gone on something they’ll wear once and spill hot chocolate down. Instead, hop on eBay or Vinted and search “BNWT” (brand new with tags). Loads of parents bought one last year, never used it, and just want it out of the house. Same jumper, still with the tag on, a fraction of the price. Bonus tip: when the day is done, wash it and list it straight back on. Let it fund next year’s. What’s your best Christmas money saving hack? Drop it below so we can all save some coins 👇🏾 #ChristmasJumperDay #MumMoneyTips #SaveMoneyUK #UKMums #TopTipOfTheWeek by @mariam.asuquo$
