Maria Vera talking about her work at @88gallerylondon. Featuring three pieces currently on show: Adrift, Catharsis and The Empress. “This work is a practice of surrender; a reminder that change is an invitation to move along with it.” As a creative engineer with a background in Architectural Engineering, Maria has developed and produced light and kinetic installations internationally; she has worked with art studios such as DRIFT, Field and Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, creating projects for clients such as Therme Art, Edition Hotel, BMW, and The Guggenheim, for the Venice Biennale and The Armory Show. She collaborates with architects, light designers, and musicians to create potent sculptures that add a new dimension to the architectural space; one that takes you on an inner journey while being still. #LightArt #KineticArt #ArtAndArchitecture #ExperientialArt #MeditativeArt by @mariavera.lightfields

“Scale is not an issue” Some thoughts on how I work while showing examples of larger scale projections. With my background in architecture I have a natural urge to work in the context of larger spaces. I have done many tests and experiments working at scale and love the potential. Many thanks to @pslab to test with their superb lights in their stunning studio. And to @tommysays_clubhouse to commissioning my work during @londonfashionweek Let me know if you like to collaborate on a project. #lightinstallation #contemporaryart #publicartwork by @mariavera.lightfields
