I’m not a runner. That’s what I used to say.

Then I just started to sign up for races. A found causes I could get behind. Pat’s Run for military scholarships, Maggie’s Place for pregnant women, Turkey Trots for local support, and eventually half and full marathons for me.

What I didn’t know was how training for a marathon would save my life during chemo for breast cancer... twice.

I took that discipline and mindset into getting through treatment and getting to Boston and then New York City Marathon.

Now I raise money for cancer support through running.

I’d love for you to join me for the Pink Out 5K in Phoenix.

Let’s do this together! 🩷🏃🏻‍♀️

If you’re new here, hi 👋🏼 I’m Marina.

I’m an Arizona mom, wife, runner, creator, entrepreneur and speaker currently in what I like to call my “what now?” era.

Cancer is a big part of my story, but it’s not my whole story. I was diagnosed with breast cancer one week after qualifying for the Boston Marathon. Life changed and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I fell in love, made it to Boston, and was able to see what’s possible when you have faith.

These days, I’m interested in what happens after the pivot. After the disrupt. Because I believe that’s where life can begin.

Around here you’ll see running, mom life, what it’s like to build businesses on social and in real life, and me figuring out what it looks like to really live beyond cancer.

I also speak to organizations and communities about turning impossible seasons into finish lines. You can follow that side of my work at @beyondcancercoach 🎤

If you’re new here, tell me how you found me! ABC15, YouTube, cancer, running, or somewhere else? I’m so happy you’re here! ❤️❤️ by @marinablackford

This house is by our wedding DJ Chris Birkett who is the best in the business not just because of the music but the way he’s able to transform the feeling of an event with music, lighting and entertainment.

He shares his love of doing this during the holidays at his house in Scottsdale where creates the @hauntedgraveyardarizona for Halloween 🎃 and on Dec 4 @winterwonderlandarizona for Christmas. 🎄

If you’re in Arizona, you have to check this out! If you’re not, you can see his house on the Great Christmas Lights Fight episode 5 on Hulu! 54 days til Christmas! 🎅🏻✨ by @marinablackford

Honored to share my survivor story 🎤@eastvalleyrelayforlife @relayforlife in support of @americancancersociety fundraising ❤️

People showed up to raise funds in honor of loved ones. The night was filled with hope and love. What a blessing to experience this. Keep showing up because people matter. 🙏🏼

Thank you to my support team. Love you all!

Lil Fall Break Flash back to Prescott @heritage_park_zoo rainy day memories 🌲☔️🦌

Have you been to the little zoo in Prescott? We were able to do the whole thing in about two hours and loved it! Easton loves his mood ring which took me back to my youth. I always love a trip to @billspizzaprescott (for the “Kevin Bacon” pizza)! He also found a smore fidget toy at @puzzlerideprescott shop at Hotel St. Michael shopping. And it would not have been a complete trip up north without a deer sighting. Great memories. ❤️ by @marinablackford

Fall break trip Day 2 🌲☁️☕️

We love getting up North for fall break to Prescott. The weather was rainy but perfect for our Airbnb with skylights, a fireplace and hot tub. What’s your favorite city in the fall in Arizona?

Family trip to Prescott was just what a 2 week fall break ordered 🌲☔️🎃

So happy we could break up the two weeks off with a trip up North. I love Prescott in the fall! The leaves weren’t changing yet, but the decorations were still out before all the rain came. What’s your favorite spot in Prescott? I loved ice cream from @fiteandsons.mercantile plus so much to look at! 🍨 by @marinablackford
