Another one in the books 📚🏅🏁
I pulled myself through the last 6km 🥹 but we did it 🥳

And I got a 10min15second marathon PR 🥳
Finished 55/ 274 out of the women in my age category🥲

I’m so proud of the work I put in the last 22 weeks. Marathon training is hard but the feeling afterwards in unbeatable 🥹

Your core doesn’t stop working during pregnancy, and neither should you!

As your body changes, core training becomes less about traditional ab exercises and more about strength, stability, breathing and learning to manage intra-abdominal pressure.

Sharing some of my favourite deep core exercises during pregnancy, focusing on controlled movement and functional strength.

1. Hug the baby

Inhale: Relax your belly and pelvic floor, allowing them to expand.
Exhale: Gently lift your pelvic floor and draw your lower abdomen inward, engaging your transverse abdominis (deep core). I like to think about my belly flattening and feeling my hips draw closer to my ribs

2. Bird dog

Resist rotation and maintain pelvic stability

3. Bear to pike

Lift your hips into a pike, then return to bear. I like using a Pilates ball to help contract my pelvic floor

4. Bear hold pulses

Hover your knees, lower and lift with control

5. Bear hold rotations

Rotate side to side while maintaining core control

6. Bear Walkout to Plank

Start in a bear position and walk back into plank
Try to keep hips as level as possible and move slowly exhaling as you step back

7. Modified side plank with leg lifts and arm reach

Strengthen your obliques and glute medius with knee support.

8. Side plank leg lift pulses

Stay as stable as you can breathing through every lift by @marinavaccafitness
