@superprostor.hr @mariofurcicarch

Inspirisana rimskom boginjom proleća i mediteranskim pejzažom, Villa Flora donosi osvežavajući spoj antičke scenografije i modernog uzstanovanja.

Arhitekta Mario Furčić oblikovao je enterijer kao razigranu scenografiju u kojoj se prošlost i sadašnjost susreću u pomalo snolikoj atmosferi.

SUMMER POSTCARDS — Dubrovnik

A few days watching (and sketching) the sunsets from our window overlooking Lapad Bay, and finding inspiration in the work of fellow architects and designers.

We explored some of the city’s most distinctive hotels, each offering a different perspective on architecture, interiors and the art of hospitality.

From Hotel Kompas, designed by Zoran Balog, with interiors by @deanfranicdesignstudio and @sasasekoranja, Hotel Excelsior featuring the duo again as interior designers, to the newly transformed Villa Argentina by @3lhd.

A special highlight was reconnecting with @katarina.alamat and gaining her perspective on the evolving relationship between design, heritage and hospitality in Dubrovnik.

We also revisited the heritage and atmosphere of Hotel Zagreb, a reminder of the city’s long-standing tradition of hospitality.

A few days of looking, exchanging ideas and rediscovering familiar places through a fresh perspective — taking a little of Dubrovnik’s inspiration back into our own work. by @mariofurcicarch

Copenhagen Design Tour, Day 3 🇩🇰

A closer look at materials, craft and Copenhagen.

At @stleointeriors , we explored a world of tactile materials, from brass lighting to specially developed lime paints, some made entirely from plant-based ingredients. Their showroom brings everything together with warmth, confidence and a strong sense of materiality.

Then, one last boat ride through Copenhagen with our wonderful host. A bridge by @studioolafureliasson , a glimpse of Bjarke Ingels’ floating home, and the city from a different perspective. Rain included, of course.

And just before heading to the airport, one final dip in the ice-cold Nordic sea.

Three days full of design, architecture, new perspectives and great company. What a way to end the trip.

Copenhagen Design Tour, Day 2 🇩🇰

A hotel, showroom and meeting place for design.

At @audohouse, we got a behind-the-scenes look at how hospitality, design and community come together under one roof. The CEO himself showed us around and shared the thinking behind the space and its collaborations with designers and architects.

Then a brutalist church — monumental concrete, beautiful light and a completely different kind of atmosphere.

We ended the day with dinner with our friends at @stleointeriors in their beautiful showroom. More about that tomorrow.

Another day of Copenhagen, another layer of Danish design.

Copenhagen Design Tour, Day 1 🇩🇰

A chair factory that gives its profits away.

At Fritz Hansen, the CEO himself led our tour. We walked through the production and talked about the company’s history and how deeply it’s woven into Danish culture. Tradition, quality and a purpose beyond the product: the profits go to a foundation that gives them back to society.

Then Louisiana: sculpture in the landscape, and a Giacometti wing that stops you in your tracks.

We closed the day at dinner with our hosts Tischlerei PRÖDL - thank you for bringing us together in Copenhagen! 🤍

Two more days.

A home designed around a feeling. 🌊

A place to explore the world from — and a retreat to come home to.

Work in progress in Rijeka, Croatia.

Designing a holiday house isn’t about adding more.

It’s about removing everything that stands between you and the landscape.

Framing the sea.
Framing the islands.
Letting light, air and the horizon become part of the architecture.

Nearing completion, more soon.

NEW PROJECT - A forgotten Vienna Altbau overlooking the MuseumsQuartier is about to become something completely different.

We’re stripping it back to its essence—clean modernism, honest materials, and timeless proportions.

This is just the beginning.

More soon. #ViennaInteriorDesign #ViennaArchitecture #LuxuryInteriors #HomeRenovation #InteriorDesign by @mariofurcicarch

HOUSE FRANCO — recipient of the ICONIC Awards: Innovative Material.

We collaborated with artist @silvioandsons and @bokart.glass to incorporate an experimental laminated glass textile into the architecture. Silvio Vujičić’s bespoke textile was permanently encapsulated between layers of glass, transforming a delicate fabric into a structural architectural element that filters light, texture and atmosphere.

The S&S textile laminate combines artistic expression with advanced glass technology, preserving the textile within the glass while creating unique translucent surfaces for interiors.

HOUSE FRANCO — recipient of the Zagreb Design Week Award. Recognized by the professional jury, this award celebrates House Franco as a project where architecture, craftsmanship and contemporary Croatian design come together within the walls of a historic palace in the heart of Omiš.

For me, this project also celebrates a long-standing collaboration with @ceramic_and_nature (Lidija Boševski). Rooted in her background as a botanist, Lidija’s ceramic practice explores the structures, textures and quiet intelligence of the natural world. Rather than reproducing nature, she transforms its principles into tactile objects. They became an integral part of House Franco—not as decoration, but as architectural companions.

Together with the Mediterranean stone, natural light and carefully selected materials, they create an atmosphere that feels calm, authentic and deeply connected to its surroundings. by @mariofurcicarch

My first award — and perhaps the sweetest. Selected by the professional jury and by public vote as the Best Apartment in Croatia.

HOUSE FRANCO — a renovation of a historic palace in the heart of the Mediterranean city of Omiš, where every piece of furniture was designed specifically for the space.

At the heart of the project is the Franco Bedroom Collection, developed in close collaboration with master carpenter @bbr_buda. Built with precision and an honest respect for wood, the collection reflects a shared belief that craftsmanship creates objects meant to last for generations.

The project was enriched through collaborations with some of Croatia’s most inspiring creatives: lighting by @grupa_studio, ceramics by @ceramic_and_nature, curtains by @silvioandsons, plants by @botanike, details by @anatevsicnaukovic, chairs by @trika_333 and a custom staircase by @bokart.glass.

House Franco has since become a destination for guests seeking authenticity, craftsmanship, and atmosphere. by @mariofurcicarch
