Sometimes you're better off addressing a snacking habit before diving into intermittent fasting. You might be caught in a relentless habit of answering dopamine urges with food 🤤

Why not start with just 12 hour fasts and work on breaking the snacking habit first? Even if you stick to three meals a day, it's a great place to start, and you'll be less hungry simply by reducing your snacks!

Still hungry? You probably need more protein. Increase your intake of animal protein and you'll experience less hunger between meals...it's a fact that's been proven time and time again in the scientific literature 💪

What an absolutely stunning space. I had an exquisite meal at the new @susu.chicago, a Lebanese and South Asian fusion restaurant in the West Loop. I'm a sucker for fusion and culture-rich cuisine, and this delivered!

I highly recommend 😛
> Purple Rain cocktail
> Foie gras wrapped in grape leaves w duck confit
> Fattoush salad (perfection)
> Tableside Cheesy Potatoes (for major cheese lovers only)
> Coconut Pavlova w Black Sesame dessert (insanely delicious and fun to eat)

Congrats to the amazing chef and team at SuSu 👏

I've been amazed at what happens when I relinquish control and trust in the possibilities of the unknown. Contemplate this with me, in my latest Substack article, reflecting on Day 2 of #thepivotyear by @briannawiest

I’m wild for #rapini. AKA #broccolirabe, a super nutrient-dense and detoxifying green that’s in season now.👩‍🍳 Make the perfect batch with my 5-step process.
1. Trim and split the tough stems
2. blanch in salted boiling water for 2 minutes
3. transfer to ice water
4. Squeeze the water out of the rapini
5. Sauté with thinly sliced garlic, chili flakes, EVOO, salt and pepper. (Cover the pan if you want to soften them even more)

I never considered myself a spiritual person until maybe two years ago when I bonded over the most fascinating friendships and then went on to discover Human Design and the study of Kabbalah.

This weekend I had the tremendous honor of attending a live workshop with my spiritual teacher @davidghiyam (and my dear friend @annabella1437 from @lovingkindness247 ❤️)

David’s teachings have transformed my relationship to spirituality and my outlook on life. I can’t unlearn what I now understand. It’s an evolution of my soul, and one that’s quite invigorating!

🌁 I find myself now standing at the foot of bridge which begs to connect my passion for health coaching with the spiritual wisdom that lights me up from the inside out.

What will come of this evolution I do not know. All I know is that it’s happening and there is nothing to fear.

Most granola options are health-food imposters 🥸. I’ve tried all the grain-free ones out there and this is my new favorite! @grandyorganics

🧐 Notice the variety of nuts and seeds in there…that’s a telltale sign of a nutrient-dense, easier-to-digest option. Missing cereal? Try grain-free granola instead.

Thank you @disfrutarbcn for reminding me that beauty and creativity are forms of nourishment, too. ☺️

My recent trip to Europe wouldn’t have been complete without this incredible gastronomic dining experience at Disfrutar, the #1 restaurant in the world in 2024

Did you see?!? @starbucks finally offers a protein option! The protein cold foam is made with whey protein and 2% milk.

🙅‍♀️ This means there’s no dairy-free version yet, AND it’s unwise to add to your hot drinks.

👍 Add the unsweetened cold foam to your COLD drinks only.

Why?

Because hot coffee damages thr whey protein molecules, and that means increased inflammation and reduced bioavailability.

💪 Protein powder in your cold drinks is a great way to increase your daily protein intake so that you’re less likely to snack between meals, lose muscle, or experience an afternoon energy dip. by @marisa_moon_
