When you hike in Blue Ridge Mountains and happen to walk into someone’s special moment! 🙊🙊🙊

It was a beautiful hike on the Craggy Pinnacle Trail. By the time I got all the way up I was only able to take a few photos before the sun went behind the clouds. Obviously, as a photographer, I was disappointed because I was hoping to get some more pictures of the beautiful sunset, especially after driving more than an hour just for that.
After waiting for about 10min it didn’t look like the sky would clear up so I decided to hike back down - I soon realized I took the wrong turn but just moments later, I heard some voices and then saw this adorable couple having a picnic with the most wonderful views.
I wished them well and kept walking, but seconds later I turned around. I just couldn’t help myself but ask if they would allow me to take a few pictures of them. It was just too perfect not to capture the moment…
She was a little more hesitant, but he said YES and I quickly grabbed my camera.
Just as I was taking these images, the sun literally came out for about 10 seconds only! I’m not even kidding! That was it! That “fire” in the sky disappeared within a split second.
As I thanked them and was getting ready to leave this couple alone, he told me their story: this amazing couple was actually celebrating their 22nd wedding anniversary with a picnic at the most magical spot ever. What a way to celebrate love! ❤️
I feel so genuinely happy and very blessed to be able to capture this moment in time for them…🥹
OH - and I just sent over these images (asked their number before leaving) - they are beyond thankful!

Would you say YES or NO to a stranger interrupting your special private moment wanting to take pictures?! 🤔 by @mariskirsphotography

So many seniors are obsessed with the idea of having their senior shoot done in a wildflower field and rightfully so! 🌸🌻
Flower field offers an amazing background for your photos and there’s no way of going wrong with this stunning location!
Here you can see a blog post from my website with some of the previous sessions I’ve done in a gorgeous flower field not too far from Ponte Vedra or Saint Augustine area!
These wildflowers as well as a field filled with sunflowers will be blooming again in mid October for just about a month. If this is your dream photoshoot location send me a DM and I’ll send you all the details! #mariskirsphotography #seniorpictures #pontevedra #staugustinefl #904photographer by @mariskirsphotography

Senior year has a way of becoming busy overnight. ❤️

One minute you’re celebrating the start of senior year, and the next you’re juggling SATs, college applications, campus tours, sports, school events, prom, graduation… and trying to enjoy every last moment with the people you love.

That’s why I always encourage seniors and their parents: don’t wait to book your senior portraits!
These photos aren’t just about having pretty pictures for Instagram. They’re about capturing who they are right now—before they leave for college, before life changes, before this chapter becomes a memory.
And trust me… this season goes by faster than you think. 🥹

Whether we’re exploring the streets of St. Augustine, chasing golden light at the beach in Ponte Vedra, or creating something completely unique in Jacksonville, your senior session should feel like them.

So if you’ve been thinking, “We should probably book those senior pictures…”
✨ This is your sign. ✨
Let’s make sure you have beautiful photographs of this once-in-a-lifetime chapter—before senior year gets too busy.

Downtown charm + beachy sunsets = the perfect St. Augustine senior session ✨🌴
We started among the beautiful streets and timeless architecture of downtown St. Augustine, then headed to Anastasia State Park for golden light, sandy toes, and the dreamiest coastal views. From soft, natural portraits to fun, carefree moments by the water, this session captured so many sides of her personality and made the senior photos feel uniquely HER. 🤍

Senior year goes by so quickly, but these moments deserve to be remembered forever. If you’re a high school senior in Northeast Florida, St. Augustine offers the perfect mix of historic beauty and stunning beaches for a one-of-a-kind senior experience!
