Halloween ghost tour wedding! 😍🎃 I was so excited to officiate this very brief ceremony in between haunted stops. The couple’s rings were presented by their family members from a coffin-shaped box, and their guests enthusiastically participated in their fantastic costumes: Cruella Deville, Power Rangers, the Phantom of the Opera, gangsters, flappers, characters from Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, skeletons, witches and goth outfits just to name a few. I adore Halloween. It was a fun celebration. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. FP! 🥳🦇 I hope the rest of your ghostly tour was just as memorable.

Their wedding photos were captured by the lovely @veroniquegagnonphotography. And a big thanks to to @ghostlywalks for sharing some spooky local history. 👻

A fantastic wedding today! What a fun group, there was so much love in the air. This couple wanted to prank his best friend during the ceremony, so the planner and I happily participated in the conspiracy.

When it came time for the ring exchange, I called on the Best Man to present the rings. He looked completely stunned, as everyone looked to him in anticipation. Plot twist: He did not have the rings. They were hidden under someone’s seat. We finally shared the joke, and the rings were quickly located. Our surprise ring bearer came forward to everyone’s great delight. It was a truly funny moment. One of those ‘frozen in time’ facial expressions you will never forget. Congratulations T & S! 💞

The weather forecast called for light rain for much of the day. Right up to our start time, benches were being wiped down and blankets were laid out to keep everyone warm. However the universe came through for us ... just before the wedding started, the clouds parted and we had a dry ceremony. Perfect timing.

Cheers to this all-star vendor team:

So happy to be back at @cedarhavenresort for a wedding rehearsal with this fun crew. We did a practice run of everything in preparation for their big day. Can’t wait to marry them!

I love this forest venue, the ceremony site is incredible. The big trees, the moss, the giant ferns, a natural stream, and a stunning clear quartz geode resting behind the arch. Such a cool west coast magical vibe. ✨

The wonderful team from @beautybrideweddings will ensure everything goes smoothly for this couple’s big day. 💕

A great day representing @younghipandmarried at the @adiwbridalshow in Parksville! It was so nice to say hi to familiar wedding colleagues and meet some new faces. I loved chatting with all of the couples who were kind enough to stop by our table. Happy planning! 💕🥂🍾 Congratulations to the cute couple who won the Young Hip & Married prize. We will be in touch soon!

Great job by @lee_entertainment.ca who wore a few different hats as the DJ, emcee and coordinator of fun.

Happy wedding day to Mr. & Mrs. H-B! 💕 I adore this couple. We met last year at the Parksville wedding show, and it’s been so fun to work with them. There were so many unique and personal touches. Being enthusiasts of board games, they threw a D20 dice to decide who would share their vows first… She threw 17, he threw a 20! It was very close. We also had a beautiful handfasting ceremony where their loved ones presented the cords, each representing a different aspect, and then we tied the knot. According to folklore, rain on your wedding day is good luck, and a wet knot is harder to untie.

This couple had planned their wedding with a specific vision in mind. However Mother Nature decided to shower them with good luck… so we quickly pivoted. Approximately 10 minutes before the ceremony, and after weighing all of the pros and cons, a decision was made to move everything from outside the gazebo to underneath. The chairs and the signing table were moved, the seats were quickly wiped down, cameras and speakers were relocated, and we began the ceremony only about six minutes behind schedule. It was a tight fit and felt a little cozy, but everyone stayed dry and the acoustics were better. Their guests were in a celebratory mood - lots of laughs, cheers and smiles, despite the crowded conditions and relentless downpour. I loved the vibe under the gazebo. It felt much more intimate and loving.

Shoutout to @mariahburchell and @tanner_biggan who had the task of capturing their special moments on film and video. Outstanding job under challenging conditions. Can’t wait to see how everything turns out.

Huge thank you Shane and Hugo at @tighnamara and to @golden.hour.events for being such great wedding wizards. It wasn’t an easy call to make, but it was definitely the right one. Event professionals are the heroes of the day, and they do it so well.

Cheers to the happy couple for being such great sports and rolling with everything. Hope your day was the best! ✨🥂🍾

Wedding rehearsal at @tighnamara in Parksville! 💞Exactly one year ago, I met this lovely couple at a wedding show. We had such a great connection, they booked me. Tomorrow they will say I do! We have a few fun elements planned, including three flower grannies, a handfasting ceremony and a unique way to decide who will share their vows first. This couple is so organized, they have been a dream to work with.

Looking forward to working with @golden.hour.events who will ensure that everything goes smoothly.

The weather forecast shows a 100% chance of rain, and it is an outdoor wedding. We will need a clear window for only an hour. I am off to have a chat with the universe asking for a rain-free ceremony! ✨🌥️

Perfect afternoon for a wedding! Vows, rings, a hand-fasting ceremony and a reading by their family and friends, culminating in drinking from the Quaich (despite the fact that neither of them enjoy the taste of Scotch). Such beautiful weather with the falling leaves, all taking place beneath a giant willow tree… We even spotted a brigade of Canada geese and a few seals swimming along the waterway.

This couple was so clever reimagining previously loved items into something new and beautiful for their special day. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.

@lily.letkeman it’s been so great working with you again 🫶
