On a cold and foggy morning to sign off for 2024, 48 members from across all sections of LMGC came together in a minutes silence to pay respects to a much respected character and great servant to Lea Marston Golf Club. Andy Stokes ❤️ First and foremost Andy was a great friend to all of us and as many others have done, we've had plenty of laughs and drinks with him and there was always a story to tell. Having been with us and @darrenlewispga for 28 years, his friendliness and work ethic with our staff and customers shone through. Darren had never seen a work ethic like Andys, he would teach in the morning, play a tournament in the afternoon and straight back on the evening for a few more lessons. He didn't have to, but for fear of letting his customers down, he would always come back, a testament to his great attitude. Even after those lessons, he'd be at that days tournaments presentation, suited and booted picking up his prizes from yet another win! On a bad day in the shop Andy would always be the first to cheer up Darren and the lads, a truly top bloke who will be missed by all at Lea Marston dearly. Our sincerest condolences to Sam, Eve and @fin.stokes on their sad loss ❤️ RIP Andy Stokes 🍺❤️🏌‍♂️ by @marstonlakesgc

2️⃣25th Anniversary Scramble5️⃣ 40+ members took part in blistering hot conditions across both courses 🥵 18 on the Lakes and 7 on the Pitch and Putt! A massive thank you goes out to all the members who took part in this special event ❤️ Congratulations to Dave Morrel, @adrian.friar, @nathanja5 and @jack_keast20 who took home the win 🏆 Ready to defend again in another 25 years 🤣 ? The biggest thanks of all though goes to all the amazing clubs and businesses in the area that donated fourballs to their prestigious courses.
