2024 champion of the Tour of Somerville, Cesar Marte, returns without a team in 2026. Breaking through with 2024’s win gave him the confidence and the key to understanding how to win at the highest level. Though Marte will have no teammates at Somerville this year, he has extensive experience surfing other teams’ leadout trains, having finished on the podium at Somerville multiple times before his breakout 2024 win. His impeccable sense of timing and positioning will make him one to watch on Monday.

The defending champion of the Tour of Somerville, Cesar Marte, returns with one of the most organized and aggressive teams in the game. Marte had been knocking on the door of a major win for many years, finishing on the podium in Somerville multiple times. Breaking through with last year’s win gave him the confidence to continue his 2024 season with more wins. Now backed by the powerhouse Bikers Cycling Team, he has more opportunities to sit in or rely upon strong teammates to help bring back a potential breakaway. Marte has an impeccable sense of timing and positioning, and if the race comes down to a bunch kick, as it often does, he’s the man to beat.
