GRIEF - The song is now yours. 💜 Available on ALL streaming platforms! (Produced by: @zachariahrobert_ ) by @mary.stibral
I’m in literal disbelief to be able to say this next sentence: My debut ALBUM Burning Bridges is now available on all streaming platforms! There’s no way for me to fully explain how much this means to me or what the journey has been like trying to get to this point. Simply put, I am grateful. And I would be genuinely thrilled to have ANY and ALL of you listen to these songs. Most of them have been with me for years. 🖤 I’ll do a different post with more specific production credits & thank you’s later on, but I can’t say thank you enough times to my producer @zachariahrobert_ for bringing this project to life! A story from the studio: When starting production on a song, you begin by creating what is called a scratch track; An initial recording of the lead instrument and main vocal to the tempo. You use this track to build the song around, then you would typically re-record the vocals at the end after everything else is done. While Zach and I were in the studio working on the song “Fight of a Lifetime”, he needed me to sing the song aloud so he could record the guitar for the scratch track. As I sang the lyrics for the first time in months, while simultaneously hearing it on guitar for the first time ever, I was overcome with emotion. What started as a strong voice became soft…then the soft voice became merely a hum, with only an occasional word here and there. I was impacted so deeply by the weight of my own lyrics that my body shut down from sadness. But Zach, like the pro that he is, did not stop. He stayed present in the moment with me and just kept playing till the end, even though I lost the ability to sing. Afterwards, we sat in silence, then he honored what I was feeling, and we took a 5 minute break. I left to cry alone in the bathroom, splashed some water on my face, then returned and said I was ready to record the vocal. Somehow moments after being mute, I sang the song in the most raw performance I’ve ever done, in one take, EXACTLY how you hear it on the record. by @mary.stibral
More about the album art; I wanted the hand reaching out from the water to symbolize a battle with depression. Sometimes, it can feel like you’re drowning. Other times, you’re able to keep your head just above water… or at least, come up for air often enough that nobody can tell that you’re struggling. It’s important to reach out for help from someone standing on solid ground before you sink. by @mary.stibral

Maybe those insecurities you have, those abilities you doubt in yourself, are the very same things that others admire when they look at you. Maybe it’s actually easy to love you. 🫶🏻 by @mary.stibral
