Couldn’t think of a better place 🙏 by @mason_baas
Funny guy alert 🤪‼️🚨 . . . Okay enough joshin around. . Being in Central Minnesota District makes you work THAT much harder to earn your spot at nationals due to the sheer difficulty of the competition. There are people who don’t even final in this district that would make it far in out rounds. I worked my BUTT off on this piece and was blessed enough to place 3rd at districts, earning my first - and last! - spot at nationals in my 2nd year ever doing Humorous Interpretation. And then to go from 3rd in districts to a top 14 semifinalist, and earning 11th place in the nation, is way beyond me. After 6 months and 13 different drafts, I am ever so proud to end it here. . English Teacher holds a very special place in my heart. I had never intended to do that piece this year - I was planning on doing Liar Liar (the one with Jim Carrey), but after one cutting attempt, that quickly fell through 😭. That’s when our head coach recommended me the TV show pilot episode of The English Teacher, and I decided to give cutting a humor piece out of it a shot. The rest is PL SPEECH HISTORY!!! . A very incredibly special thank you to my coach Matt Baer, who pushed me, believed in me, woke up for tireless 7am practices for me weekly and sometimes daily, and never gave up on me. I am incredibly indebted to you, and without you, NONE of this would be possible. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. . Thank you to the forever faithful and loving Jesus God the almighty for allowing me spread your light in this activity. I wish I would’ve done more. It is by your grace that I was merely able to have the energy, the strength, the pure JOY, to be able to do what I do. You deserve all the glory. 🤍 . I guess this also classifies as an end of my speech career post, too. Words can’t describe how this activity has impacted me. Funny to say that after I thought I was for sure quitting speech after my freshman year. For real though; the memories, the friends, the experiences, the journey, it all helped me grow so much as a person and a performer, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to be in an activity like Speech. . . . Thank you, Prior Lake Speech. Speaker code 3159 - out by @mason_baas

PLHS Choir. A home. A family. A place that gave me purpose. I hope that I was able to pass on to everyone just how much this program meant to me. We truly are stronger together. Through getting into Allstate, going to Italy, and getting to share the Christopherson award with @0leo_choi0 , one thing always remained clear: It wasn’t the awards/accolades/achievements I was going to miss - those don’t even come close. It was all of you. ❤️😢 Until next time, Mason signing out. by @mason_baas
