I dedicate breathe to @purcell_pat by @masonjar907

Messy slow blues jam, been listening to a bunch of the three kings Albert, B.B, and Freddie (toss in some Marcus too) and tried emulating that as best as I could in this. Not very close to my own playing style so I struggled a bit to get the phrasing, but felt this one was good enough to share

Sharing these again but with sound! Behind the scenes clips of @goodcompanyak recording at @surrealstudiosak by @masonjar907

What can I really say here, there's really nothing like the feeling of releasing your first record. All these songs written by my bandmates I've come to know as friends, some of the most talented musicians I know, put together this beautiful record that I'm so glad to have been a part of.

Good Company is undeniably a live band, we feel at our peak when in the spotlight under pressure to perform. It's a feeling we thrive in, we love the spontaneity of live music and we embrace it by hardly ever prepping a setlist and by taking jams deep, making new songs out of an old one. Going into the studio was hard, but we've come to realize that we're not any less dedicated to the music when in studio.

7 days, maybe more like 9 or 10, twelve hours a day, we worked out this record and got everything as close to perfect as we could. Listen for the tiny details that Ludek added all over the record, on every song there is something of his to find whether it be whale sounds (seriously) or backing vocals, he really helped the whole thing gel. But honestly, being in the studio was a much appreciated intensive that made us all better as musicians.

I got some clips from the studio, some behind the scenes and control room shenanigans. Some of it's gold, some of it was cut. None of you will get to see the original Don't Pin Me Down sheet music though that will stay locked away for safe keeping.

Want some fun facts about the record?

- There are 4 bass players
- Local Bartender bass track had 26 takes
- A car crashed into the building while we were recording
- Lukey Boy from Black Barrel did some backing vocals, read off a plate
- Don't Pin Me Down was recorded with real strings, that is not a pad it is basically an orchestra
- Will had a pretty bad cold and still nailed the vocal parts
- My best guess is we had 40-50 mixes of the album before we settled on this one
- This is, in fact, going on the record

Big thanks to Kurt Riemann from surreal studios
