Introducing MASSIVE NUN Blending electronic experimentalism and live improvisation in the service of abstract musical dramaturgy, Manchester-based collective MASSIVE NUN aim to provoke and surprise. We develop performance interventions that engage with and reflect on the spaces where we perform, allowing for unexpected and profound moments of connectivity with our audience. Between us, the members of MASSIVE NUN draw on an array of practices and genres, allowing for flexibility and surprising meeting points between diverse musical worlds. The confrontational sits alongside the approachable, and the two reflect on each other: the familiar becomes uncanny and the experimental becomes accessible, leading audiences unexpectedly, suddenly, to a different sonic space. Our improvisatory approach, while it is built around loose structure and rehearsed moments, allows us to approach performances freely: ideas emerge and unfold from the space and from each other. Anything could happen at any moment. 📸 @robinclewleyphotography Link to tickets in bio ⬆️ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ #newmusic #electronics #musicmanchester #performanceart #improv by @massivenun
