I was scared

Me, the brave one

The one who is never scared

The one who jumps

I was scared

Scared that love would never find me

Scared I would never see it

So I didn’t

I was scared

Of having it

And losing it all over again

I was scared

I would shatter if I lost it

I was scared

Because I keep forgetting

That love never leaves

I was scared

When I looked deep inside

And found love so hard to find

Buried under so much pain

I was so scared

I would never be able to love again

But I wasn’t scared

When it broke me open

When the cracks let the light back in

I’m not scared anymore

For I found love

I see love

And love, at last,
Found me.
