Happy halloween 🎃 October 31st is an important day in my diary. 3287 days of sobriety which if you do the math is 9 years. It has not always been easy and the last couple of years have been challenging … but take it from me, the journey has been well worth it. I’ve decided after many years of being in the social media wilderness to finally make a gradual return. Many positive things have happened in my life recently … Getting married … moving to the USA … and as the song says , I am now ‘ An Englishman living in New York ‘. All my drums have finally arrived and I now have the important green card so I can work. I’m planning in the next few weeks/ months to hopefully get back out there playing. I’m also going to be sharing some of my passions, drums, vinyl and inspirations . Trust me I have a lot of vinyl and drums which have always kept me sane. As it’s Halloween, here are two original soundtrack treasures I’ve pulled out of my vinyl vault. Both are pretty hard to find and for the best playback experience turn the lights off and the volume up !!!!! 💀Matt 💀 #halloween #sobriety #vintagevinyl by @mattgoom

What a sad , sad day ... My friend Jimmy Webb has passed away. It’s only fitting that I first met Jimmy Webb a few years back at a rock festival through my friend @brentfitz and the Conspirators. Jimmy defined the spirit and soul of Rock and Roll and ever since that day we have remained great friends . On all of my stays in NYC, Christie and I have enjoyed many great dinners, laughs, conversations and story telling with Jimmy. #Memories I know both of us will always treasure and never forget ! New York City has lost a legend and I’m sure going to miss you Jimmy Webb. by @mattgoom
