100k+ streams fuq Spotify għal “INT U JIEN”. 🤍

L-ewwel darba li qed nesperjenza dan l-ammont ta’ semmiegħa fuq kanzunetta oriġinali 🥹

Diffiċli nemmen li kanzunetta li bdiet bejn tliet iħbieb ġo kamra, issa qed tgħix fil-playlists, fil-karozzi, fid-djar, fl-iskejjel u fl-avvenimenti ta’ tant nies.

Xtaqt nuża dan il-filmat biex infakkarkom li, veru forsi fuq il-palk ta’ Mużika Mużika rajtu lil wiċċi nkanta din il kanzunetta, però wara l-kwinti hemm dawn iż-żewġ persuni mimlija talent illi kieku mhux għalihom “INT U JIEN” ma teżistix.

Ninsab grat ħafna li ktibtha ma’ Matthew James u Edward Abela, żewġ persuni li nammira immens u nqishom bħala ħuti fil-mużika. Din qatt ma kienet il-kanzunetta tiegħi biss, kienet tat-tlieta li aħna mill-ewwel ġurnata. U issa saret ta’ kull min semagħha, kanta magħha jew irrelata magħha bil-mod tiegħu.

Grazzi talli għamiltu din il-kanzunetta akbar milli qatt immaġinajna. 🫶

Faith is like a tomato plant. 🍅

Faith in the ones we love; faith in humanity; faith in God… it needs constant nurturing.

At just 5 centimetres tall, this tomato plant had leaf miners. I removed the infected leaves and kept watering it, and it started growing… growing fast.

At one point, its leaves started losing their colour, so I changed its position to give it better exposure to the sun. The leaves started regaining their deep green colour.

Meanwhile, I got caught up in my busy schedule. Before I knew it, the plant had grown so much that it was too heavy for its stalks to support, and it started falling to one side. So I decided to take a day off to buy some bamboo sticks and clips to support it.

It seemed to like its new support, because small tomatoes started popping up everywhere. But somehow, they stayed green for a whole week… then two… then three. I worried, but I kept watering and pruning it.

These past two days, the first few tomatoes have started turning red… and I can’t stop smiling. :)

Sometimes we worry about the ones we love, see humanity letting us down, and even wonder if God is there when faced with all the chaos, evil, and indifference out there. But we need to keep up the constant nurturing. Pouring love into everything we do and keeping love as our main focus, can and will fix the impossible.

Because although many days are filled with troubles, suffering, and hopelessness, other days wake us up to a hug from someone we love; a smile from a stranger; a rainbow from the heavens…

…or a red tomato. 🍅❤️ by @matthewjamesmt

The roller coaster of emotions we experienced while creating Blue Bird 🪽💙🇲🇹 by @matthewjamesmt

So happy to have produced and co-written the song representing Malta at this year’s Junior Eurovision. I feel that we have created something honest, innocent and timeless. Beppe go win the hearts of Europe, just like you won ours 💙 by @matthewjamesmt

Back to where ‘Blue Bird’ first came to life! 🐦💙🎶

I went back to the studio to catch up with @mattblxck_official , @matthewjamesmt and @muxumusic , and we looked back at how we created ‘Blue Bird’ together!

It was so much fun remembering all the ideas, laughs and special moments that went into making this song! 🥹

Here’s a little look at how it all started! 🎤✨

On the night of this year’s Rockestra, we felt something different on stage. We weren’t alone. We offered our music to the heavens and in return, we were gifted the opportunity to share the stage with our maestro one more time.

It’s hard losing someone, especially when all they ever did was smile at the world and bless it with wisdom, talent and love. But it is nights like these which remind us that good surpasses this physical realm, and keeps on living in the legacy of heroes like Belli.

When I’m not doing music, I’m most probably staring at the night skies. And last night was extra special because I got to do this together with my dad. 🤍

Photographing the Milky Way always grounds me. It puts things into perspective. Worries, plans, egos… they all become little specks floating together with the stars, and an overwhelming sense of being part of something bigger and more important takes over.

In that instant of looking up, I feel the heavens swallow me, and items on priority and bucket lists start scrambling positions like a Eurovision scoreboard.

Please look up at night every once in a while. It keeps us humble. It reminds us that we all come from the same stardust. It will make the world a better place. by @matthewjamesmt
