**This floral sleeve is officially FINISHED!** 🌸🔥 One of my favorite parts of this project was taking an old, black swirly tattoo from years ago and transforming it into a wrought iron-style fence that flows right into the new floral design. The goal was to make everything look like it was created together from day one, instead of looking like separate tattoos done years apart! I love projects that challenge me to get creative with what's already there, and I'm really happy with how this one came together! Hope you guys dig it! 🙌 #MattlockLopes #FloralSleeve #FloralTattoo #TattooTransformation #ColorTattoo SleeveTattoo VirginiaBeachTattoo InkccredibleTattoo by @mattlock_lopes_tattoos
Still experimenting, still learning, and still pushing myself! 🖤 Been spending a lot of time studying Japanese art and playing around with different ways to draw flowers. This time I went with chrysanthemums, experimenting with flow, shapes, and heavy black. Turned this one into a full sleeve concept, and I'm really digging where it's going! Just enjoying the process of learning something new and seeing what works. What do you guys think? Would you rock a sleeve like this? #JapaneseTattoo #ChrysanthemumTattoo #FullSleeveTattoo #TattooDesign #BlackworkTattoo TattooArt MattlockLopes by @mattlock_lopes_tattoos
Had so much fun drawing my first finger wave design that I figured… why not go all out and make a FULL SLEEVE?! 🌊🔥 For this one, I wanted to experiment with more exaggerated, outstretched finger waves to create even more movement and flow throughout the piece. I've really been enjoying exploring this style and pushing myself to try something different. It's been a blast! **This full sleeve design is AVAILABLE TO TATTOO!** 👀 If any of these designs catch your eye and you'd like something like this tattooed, hit me up! I'd love to bring one to life! #FingerWaves #JapaneseTattoo #FullSleeveTattoo #TattooDesign #BlackAndGreyTattoo TattooArt MattlockLopes InkcredibleTattoo by @mattlock_lopes_tattoos
Been studying my butt off trying to learn more about Japanese tattooing! 🇯🇵 Between tracing dragons, koi, and samurai, I decided to take a little break and just draw something completely freehand. No reference, no tracing. Just some finger waves and a little creativity to keep myself entertained and motivated! 🌊 Still got a ton to learn, but I'm having a blast with the process! I think this would make a SICK half sleeve! 🔥 **Who would rock this?** #JapaneseTattoo #FingerWaves #JapaneseTattooArt #FreehandDrawing #HalfSleeveTattoo TattooDesign MatlockLopes InkcredibleTattoo by @mattlock_lopes_tattoos
🐆🌼 10 HOURS IN… AND THIS SLEEVE IS COMING TO LIFE! Session TWO on this African wildlife sleeve! The leopard from our first session is fully healed, and we just added some vibrant flowers to start bringing the whole environment together. And yes, that little bit of purple on the leopard is just some stubborn stencil from today's session! 😂 Around 10 hours of work so far, and we've still got plenty more wildlife to bring into this piece! #AfricanWildlifeTattoo #LeopardTattoo #ColorRealism #WildlifeSleeve #VirginiaBeachTattoo by @mattlock_lopes_tattoos
When skin becomes the canvas, every stroke matters. @mattlock_lopes_tattoos brings a painter’s eye to tattooing, blending bold color, loose brushwork, and incredible composition into pieces that feel like paintings brought to life. In the session, Hustle Butter Foaming Tattoo Soap helps keep things clean while delivering a smooth, effective experience from start to finish. A true in-session essential 💪🏼 by @mattlock_lopes_tattoos
Finished just in time for Richmond! 🔥 My 3ft x 4ft banner is officially DONE! All hand-painted using airbrush, acrylic, and paint pens. 🎨 Come see it in person this weekend, October 23rd–25th, at the Richmond Tattoo Convention! I'll be downstairs with Burke representing INKCREDIBLE Tattoo! Stop by, check out the artwork, and say what's up! 🤘 #RichmondTattooConvention #INKCREDIBLETattoo #MattlockLopes #TattooArt #AirbrushArt by @mattlock_lopes_tattoos
🐠 UNDERWATER SLEEVE PROGRESS! 🌊 Just added this grouper to GW’s sleeve! One of my favorite things about nature is how animals use their colors and patterns to blend into their surroundings for survival. At first glance, this almost looks like an explosion of color, but look closer and you'll see how the grouper blends right into the reef! Having a blast bringing this underwater world to life! 🌊 #UnderwaterSleeve #ColorRealism #GrouperTattoo #MattlockLopes #INKCREDIBLE by @mattlock_lopes_tattoos
💀🌹 BEAUTY & DEATH — SESSION THREE! Another session down on this Day of the Dead / La Catrina sleeve for @packratcave We're officially three sessions in, with just ONE MORE TO GO! 🔥 Really loving how this whole piece is coming together. The contrast between La Catrina and the darker skeletal imagery, along with the bold blacks and softer grey tones, is giving this sleeve some awesome depth and movement. One final session to bring everything together, clean up the transitions, and finish this piece off! Can't wait to see this one completed! 💀 #LaCatrinaTattoo #DayOfTheDeadTattoo #BlackAndGreyTattoo #TattooSleeve #MattlockLopes InkcredibleTattoo by @mattlock_lopes_tattoos
Started this steampunk peacock cover-up on Richard yesterday 🦚⚙️ This piece is tackling two separate cover-ups—one is already buried underneath the peacock’s head, and we’ll attack the second one next session. This is as far as we made it on session one, and you can already see the steampunk elements starting to come together with the gears worked into the composition. A lot more to build into this one, but I’m loving where it’s headed. Can’t wait to keep pushing it. More soon. ⚙️🦚 #SteampunkTattoo #PeacockTattoo #CoverUpTattoo #TattooCoverUp #ColorTattoo CustomTattoo VirginiaBeachTattoo VirginiaBeachTattooArtist INKCREDIBLETattoo by @mattlock_lopes_tattoos
⚙️ WIP — Leland’s Steampunk Sleeve Another two-day session in the books with @leland_42, who flew all the way in from Montana to keep pushing this project forward. We’re now a little past the 20-hour mark, and this whole world is really starting to come together—the plague doctor, steampunk woman, mechanical elements, gears, and those glowing blue accents tying everything into one sleeve. Still plenty left to build, but I’m loving where this is headed. Huge thanks to Leland for continuing to make the trip and trusting me with a project this big. 🤘 More soon. #SteampunkTattoo #SleeveTattoo #TattooWIP #SteampunkArt #ColorTattoo VirginiaBeachTattoo VirginiaBeachTattooArtist CustomTattoo TattooSleeve INKCREDIBLETattoo by @mattlock_lopes_tattoos
🔥 UP FOR GRABS 🔥 Just finished this Oni mask design built specifically as a right upper-arm half sleeve — one mask for the outside of the arm and one for the inside, tied together with Japanese fire and maple leaves. I wanted the two masks to feel connected without just repeating the same face, with that red/blue contrast and enough flow to wrap naturally around the arm. The cool part is, it doesn’t have to stay as a full half sleeve. If somebody only wants one of the masks, I can separate the design and turn either one into its own standalone tattoo. If you’ve been wanting a bold Japanese-inspired piece with a ton of personality, this one is available. DM me if you want to claim it. 🔥🍁 #OniMask #OniTattoo #JapaneseTattoo #JapaneseInspiredTattoo #HalfSleeveTattoo UpperArmTattoo TattooDesign UpForGrabs AvailableTattoo NeoJapanese VirginiaBeachTattoo by @mattlock_lopes_tattoos
