Manifesting 🔮 @thetodayshow @chrishemsworth by @mattrogersauthor

Book is officially launched! Thank you above all to my partner Ash for being the strongest, most inspiring person I’ve ever met. I love you so much. A huge thank you to Mr E, my high school philosophy teacher and one of my heroes, for coming out to support. Thank you to my incredible agent @danreadsabit and the entire team of legends at S&S. A huge thank you to Onur @aksoyyyyyyyyy , my cover designer for all my self-published books (and now for dozens of other authors) - we decided to give self-publishing/designing a crack together in 2016 and it somehow led here. If you’re an aspiring author thinking of self-publishing, look no further than @onegraphica_design . And finally thank you to every single person who came out last night, what a crazy turnout. One of the best nights of my life. by @mattrogersauthor

Elevator pitching on @thetodayshow 🤓 by @mattrogersauthor

Publication day! The Damned is out now. I was blown away by the praise the book received from @writtenbysime who writes, “There’s nobody out there—Gregg Hurwitz, Brad Thor, Matthew Reilly, Mark Greaney; name your favourite—who writes better action than Matt Rogers.” Dive in and enjoy the carnage 🙏 by @mattrogersauthor

Tips for creating more 👇

1. When you’re writing/painting/doing anything creative, if you’re finding it hard to get in the zone, use something like the Pomodoro technique: 25 mins of work, 5 min break. During the 25 mins (or however long) don’t let yourself be distracted by anything, put your phone in another room, etc. You will slowly train your brain to focus.

2. Quantity leads to quality. Stephen King says to be an author you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot. Don’t be afraid to do more than you think you can. Even if you write a book and it never sees the light of day, your next book will undoubtedly be better.

3. Read “The War of Art” by Steven Pressfield. If you’re in any creative field it will change your life. It’s all about facing “Resistance,” the invisible, insidious force that stops us from sitting down at the keyboard or the canvas or the instrument and getting to work.

4. Obviously, never use AI to write anything creative. It churns out slop and readers can immediately tell when prose is AI-generated. It feels soulless and hollow. The most important thing is that you develop a unique voice as a writer.

Back with #4 in the King & Slater Jr Series! I’ve been blown away by the response to the first 3 books — 2,000 total reviews with a 4.6/5 average — so I knew I had to go even bigger and better for the 4th. It’s war in the heart of Dubai as Junior and Tyrell finally go hunting for Joel Kovacs, the head of the insidious crypto gambling empire they uncovered in Book 3.
