IRONMAN ⚡️⚡️
POSTS STORIES REELS
This felt good. Exactly how I visualised it, but on a rollercoaster. 09:43:20 💥 Huge PB, unreal experience (again), amazing event / location / volunteers / community. How good is swim bike run, it’s like a drug! Big thanks // @timberkel for the elite guidance throughout. My beautiful fam for the support, always. Friends and local tri-community, always having eachothers back.   Celebrating this, then raising the bar.⚡️ by @mattsaltr
I AM AN IRONMAN 10:06:24 Put in the work, get the results, and celebrate them. What a privilege it is that my body allows me to do this, and for that I’m grateful. No real expectations, no target time, just a race plan. That apart from the swim, was executed exactly as intended, the run even better in fact. At the start of this year I set some future goals, one of which was to work towards being in the the top 10% of my age group at an Ironman. No way did I think it would be this year. On reflection, I’ve discovered what I’m capable of, and I know there’s so much more. The focus now is continued improvement - not just physical performance, but mental and emotional too. And… what an amazing event, the crowds, the volunteers, the other athletes. Everyone has your back no matter what. Follow your passions, chase your goals, and see the growth. Anything is possible. by @mattsaltr
T100 >> a good day out / tough day at the office 🌞 Swim // same same, feeling more controlled in the open water than ever though, time to find some pace now. Bike // found my legs after the first lap and gave it a good nudge… plenty of progress here, ready for more. Run // brutal back half, the heat and headwind took me to a dark place, but… a good test on how to handle it. What a race though, GC turned it on… fun / fast course, incredible vibes, the people, the event, and a constant reminder why this sport is so bloody good! by @mattsaltr

Training can feel like a real solo effort, but it’s only possible (effective and enjoyable) with your team around you. Family time always takes priority, but getting the training in (and doing it well) still needs the support of the fam. So grateful for my wife, my biggest supporter (because training regulates the fuck out of me), and the kids, my biggest cheerleaders. All part of the journey. I really hope I inspire them as much as they motivate me. 🫶🏼 by @mattsaltr
