All the smiles when dancing with @pablotobaress 💚🔁✨ Softness, connection and musicality are what he taught and brought to the dance floor! 🎶 Pablo is not only an amazing leader, but also an incredible follower🕺🙏🏻 During the workshop with @valentinacastilla_ , there weren’t enough followers, so he stepped into the follower role without hesitation. A great example of the versatility that comes with learning both roles. Thank you for setting such a great example! 🌼 #RoleRotation Thank you @yemaya.dance and @carlosyandybz_ for organising this amazing party!💖 🕺 @pablotobaress 💃 @maud_lamain 📹 @fly_over_the_moon_ 🎶 Prince Royce & Romeo Santos Ay! POV: You started bachata for the dance… but stayed for this ➡️ After 1,5 years of regular classes and socials I can definitely say that I have discovered that bachata is so much more than just dancing. It’s the warmth and openness of the community. It’s the joy that can be found in every dance and with every partner. It’s about connection, both on and off the dance floor. It’s about creating a space where people feel safe to be themselves, where there’s room to laugh, feel, play, and simply be present in the moment. And of course… it’s also about those hugs at the end ✨ by @maud_lamain
A little celebration and appreciation post. Last weekend I had the chance to follow the teachers course with amazing @felipeytiago_official @thetiagoadegas @feliperamirezdance 🔄💚 This milestone took me back to when I started dancing. From almost the beginning of my dance journey I started both following and leading friends, inspired by a few (for me pioneering) women in the Utrecht dance scene. Around that same time, I first heard about Felipe & Tiago (mil gracias @theo.econ 🫶🏼), just as role rotation started growing in my community. Role rotation doesn’t just add new layers of connection and energy to a dance, but beyond that, it represents a movement fighting for a more inclusive and open dance floor and community. Being in Madrid felt like everything coming together. Deepening my knowledge on both teaching and role rotation, and being surrounded by such open, kind, and authentic dancers. People who not only show up as themselves, but create space for others to do the same. I am not stepping into teaching yet, I want to keep learning, growing, and be more intentional about what I contribute as a dancer and as a person. But I am open to building together 🤍 If you’re interested in hosting exchanges, bootcamps, creating safer dance spaces, or if you’re curious about, rolerotation, dancing both roles or a new dance role: reach out! 💌 First 📸 by: @toroz_estudio ✨ by @maud_lamain
This weekend I took the opportunity to challenge myself and do the @dsf_ireland J&J as a leader! 🤌🏼💛✨ The luxury (and struggle) of being a role-rotation dancer is having to choose just one role for competition. But with so many dancers encouraging me to take the leap as a leader, I decided to go for it 👀 And I was incredibly lucky to dance with some amazing follows, including @irinaxgeorgiana !!! ❤️🩷💛👑 Whereas in the first round I struggled to find both a flow and connection, both with myself and my dance partners, I decided from the second round onwards to try to let go and have more fun. With that it became a bit less graceful and composed, but the energy was there 🎢💥 Making it to the semi-finals was such a lovely surprise, being able to stand there with all these amazing and actually advanced leaders is a great motivation to keep on training and learning!🔥🤠 A big thank you to @dsf_ireland for inviting me to be part of your festival. Such an open and welcoming community 🎉💥🩷🌸 by @maud_lamain

We often talk about wanting a kind, open and welcoming dance community, as if it’s something that exists around us. But we are the community. We create it through the way we treat each other. Every “move” we make, both on and off the dance floor, shapes the culture and community we dance in. With this being said, the dance community can only be as kind as the dancers who shape it. Let’s all individually create more kindness, one “move” at a time. 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜 💃 @natii.bais (one of those special dancers who just lights up a room with their energy and smile🌻) 💃 @maud_lamain 📹 @vic_quiroz_bachalove.mx (amazing dancer & know´s how to work the camera!!💯) 📍 @thehostclub.38 @dolcebachatanight 🎶 Oxigeno - @djhuskybachata @dimelocupido @alessioshama by @maud_lamain
