Maui Nui Swim Session #15 day 1 delivered tough conditions and gratitude in this 7hr30min difficult ʻAuʻau Channel swim crossing. Congratulations to day 1 finishers Gregg Horwitz, Scott Zuziak, Mike Peters, and Nicole Forelli (fins) and many thanks to crew Kalei and Taylor for keeping the momentum. #openwaterswimming #channelswimming #hawaiiopenwater by @mauinuiswim

An extraordinary swim. A well-earned celebration. 🌊🤙

Congratulations to @terri_dietz on completing the Triple Maui Nui swim! An incredible accomplishment made possible by her determination and the dedicated crew supporting her every stroke.

And a huge congratulations to @kate_the_great82, who completed her final two of the three channels while supporting Terri along the way. Two incredible waterwomen with so much to celebrate! 🤙

A big shoutout to Captain @andyjoca and crew @the.zane.wright, @meredith_graf, Cameron, and Michele for their support throughout this amazing journey.

Mahalo for bringing your crew to Koʻolau Distillery to celebrate this milestone. Show these amazing waterwomen and their team some aloha below! 💙 by @mauinuiswim

Congratulations to Uriel Garcia del Rio and Miguel Angel Marin Moreno for swimming across the Kaiwi Channel on October 12, 2026 in a time of 12:49 pending HCSA ratification. Maui Nui Swim offered a flexible window based on optimal conditions (‘Eddie Style’) and Uriel and Miguel were able to drop in and take advantage of it. Many thanks to crew members Jamie, Skosh, Laura, Patty, and Steven for their commitment to getting these guys across. More than an introduction- Maui Nui Swim leverages years of experience and data to provide expert navigation and planning to optimize safety and efficiency across O7’s hardest channel. #openwaterswimming #channelswimming #kaiwichannel #oceans7 #molokai2oahu by @mauinuiswim

Aby Ortega of Mexico swam from Molokai to Oahu in an official time of 20 hours and 50 minutes pending ratification by the Hawaiian Channel Swimming Association. Her planned landing at Sandys was aborted due to a strong northbound current causing her to redirect to Alan Davis Beach. The landing at Alan Davis in the dark was harrowing due to 1 m waves and complete darkness leading to a rocky finish adjacent to the beach. Steve swam out 3/4 mile to meet Aby and guide her in. Many thanks to crew Steffie, Jamie, and Skosh on this most incredible feat including allowing a swimmer to stick a tricky landing. Dark landings such as this one will become more common as we launch more swimmers early morning to avoid contact with cookiecutter sharks.#openwaterswimming #channelswimming #kaiwichannel #oceans7 #molokai2oahu by @mauinuiswim

Swimming wild along the NāPali Coast we wear SWANS goggles. Maui Nui Swim thanks SWANS for their generous support throughout the years.#openwaterswimming #wildswimming #napalicoast by @mauinuiswim

A video showing all the good and people involved will follow. I want to take a moment to acknowledge Zach Kayser and all his hard work to make this adventure possible. From ground transport to gear lists to fun to vital resources Zach had it all figured out. We all benefited and got to explore the Napali Coast by swimming and kayaking to places only accessible by the sea, places the ancients had cultivated, vast mango forests, waterfalls and streams, while camping cowboy style under the stars, cooking by fire, meeting many along the way willing to contribute so much to our journey. Organizing is way more than introduction and requires precision, knowledge and experience. #openwaterswimming #napalicoast #swanssportsglobal by @mauinuiswim

The Kaiwi Channel just saw its youngest swimmer at age 13. KeckCrewSF, a San Francisco-based open water swim club completed 2 relay swims across the Kaiwi Channel on Monday night. Teams Menehune and Humuhumunukunukuapuaa (ages 13-17) departed Moloka’i at 2:03 am and both finished in the dark at Sandy Beach on Oʻahu. The swim was organized by Maui Nui Swim in collaboration with the Hawaiian Channel Swimming Association. Many thanks to the coaches, swimmers, parents, HCSA observers, and crews for helping make this huge logistical feat possible.#openwaterswimming #channelswimming #keckcrewsf #kaiwichannel #oceans7 by @mauinuiswim

KeckCrewSF- a team of marathon swimmers from SF Bay area are ready to swim across the Kaiwi Channel as 2 relay teams. Splash at 2 am. Best conditions for their window. Many thanks to coaches Mike Keck and Mike Tschantz-Hahn, our crews led by Phil Kibby and Skosh Pomroy, HCSA observers Zach Kayser and Colby Dimsdale, and especially team mom Phobe White whose help we could not do without. Stay tuned for updates!

Congratulations to Norihito Yoshioka for becoming the first swimmer from Japan 🇯🇵 to swim across the Kaiwi Channel. Yoshi started in the dark on the south tip of Molokaʻi and landed at Sandy Beach on Oʻahu 15 hrs 43 minutes later after battling 2m seas and strong winds. Congratulations to his ocean and land based crew: Steven Minaglia of Maui Nui Swim, Captains Andy Joca and Phil Kibby, crew Zach Kayser and Logan Kibby, drone pilot Satoshi, and ground crew Marek Lehocky and Luke Minaglia.#openwaterswimming #kaiwichannel #molokaichannel #channelswimming #mauinuiswim by @mauinuiswim

Thank you @producedbyderek and @hawaiinewsnow for telling our story! This 'record' will be shattered in short order when fast swimmers get on this line with these conditions, but as a proof of concept, I'm just delighted to have been a small part of what @stevenminaglia and his team are working on, exploring what's possible in these waters. And as always, thanks to dear friend and swim bestie @sakurarodgers for keeping me alive! “It’s always the team. None of this happens without this extraordinarily dedicated and experienced group of people.” Swim on, friends, swim on! 🙏🏊‍♂️🤙 by @mauinuiswim

Years of research and 48 solo (often tandem solo) Hawaiian Channel swim crossings are finally paying off. Master the drift!#openwaterswimming molokaichannel #openwaterswimming #channelswimming #kaiwichannel by @mauinuiswim
