POSTS STORIES REELS

The spaces we use most deserve just as much attention as the ones we admire most. From durable materials to thoughtful layouts, designing for everyday living means finding the balance between beauty and practicality.

A few considerations we always keep in mind when designing the hardest-working spaces in a home.

This is your sign to go for the statement floor. Sometimes the most interesting design decision is the one right beneath your feet. A little pattern, an unexpected material, or a bold contrast can give a room its entire personality.

A first impression shaped by contrast, proportion, and the details that make you want to take a second look. From the brick underfoot to the dark entry and warm metal accents, every element has a part to play.

A few recent lighting saves that have stayed on our minds. Sculptural forms, warm finishes, and pieces that bring just as much character to a room when they are off as when they are on.

Materials set the tone before anything else does. The variation in color, texture, and finish is what gives a space depth and makes even the smallest details feel considered.

Materials are the moment, and we are paying attention.

From the first reference to the final room. The moodboard sets the direction, the drawings work through the details, and the finished space brings every decision into focus. We love seeing an idea make its way from paper to place.

A classic stained-wood console at the entry compliments a crisp palette of shiplap walls and black-and-white details. The cozy home office takes a playful turn with abstract wallpaper in a similar palette.

“The house truly reflects who we are as a family. Fun-loving but low-key, creative but practical, modern in mindset but traditional in values. When it comes to balance, I think we’ve got it down to a science,” says client and interior designer Soleil Maxwell.

A home feels custom in the details you might not notice at first. Thoughtful transitions, tailored millwork, considered hardware, and materials that come together just right. Each decision may feel small, but together, they create a space that feels thoughtful, cohesive, and distinctly personal.

The best design decisions are often the ones you never have to think about. From proportions and placement to finishes, transitions, and the smallest details, we consider how every choice works together so our clients do not have to.

Because a beautifully finished home is the result of hundreds of thoughtful decisions made along the way.

Design notes from Paris: remember to look up. The scale, symmetry, ornament, and layers of detail are a reminder that some spaces are meant to be experienced slowly. Inspiration found in the places where architecture and art become one.
