POSTS STORIES REELS

I was happy to have a few paintings in a group show at @maybeitsfatesocial, curated by @aaronlubrick who is such an encouraging soul. 🧡 Being a member of this creative co-op has been a nice way of maintaining real life (analog) connections, and it’s an undeniably beautiful space for art and performance. The public gallery hours are Fridays and Saturdays 1-5pm. by @maybeitsfatesocial

When we started the co-op, there was the question if anyone would use the space to host their gatherings and events. Let’s see what’s unfolding at MaybeItsFate… by @maybeitsfatesocial

Fun times hosted by Bywaybooks at Louisville's collective community arts center, Maybeitsfate! Art gallery opening, an on-going show, an indie film and a poetry reading brought out the community tonight! (And I got the coolest story from the director -- how an OKC project was a model for the collective. Is there a collective association of collectives nation wide? Fun!! by @maybeitsfatesocial

Move beyond overthinking. Release accumulated tension. Reconnect with the wisdom of your body.

We’ll begin with a guided dance/movement warm-up to awaken the body, release initial tension, and help you feel present and ready to move.

Authentic Movement invites you to close your eyes, listen inwardly, and allow movement to arise from your body’s own impulses. This simple yet profound practice can help you move beyond overthinking, awaken creativity, access deeper feelings, and reconnect with your inner knowing.

Somatic Bodywork uses embodied attention, breath, gentle movement, and optional supportive touch to soften areas of held tension, deepen the body–mind connection, and help you leave feeling grounded, open, and restored.

No dance experience is needed - only curiosity and a willingness to listen to your body.

This week, Louisville artists presented answers to their choice of three questions they were asked at Question Night one month ago. The next round of Q&A Nights will be in Dec/Jan. Stayed tuned and join us next time for this good-vibes community critique and talk series for inquisitive minds 🤎🩷💙🤍

It's time for a RUX Rhizome Recap 💛 Thank you for joining us last month for the Rural-Urban Potluck with Porch Light News & MaybeItsFate in Louisville! During the potluck, RUX alum & host Christa Iwu hosted a beautiful discussion afterwards about being from Appalachia. She read excerpts from bell hooks' work, and everyone shared where they're from, culminating in a lovely conversation about belonging. Afterward, everyone broke into small groups for storycircles about kitchen items that have meaning.

We're excited to deepen our support for Rhizomes in the months to come, to help more Kentuckians connect in and celebrate the places they're from across the state - stay tuned for more info! 🌱

OCTOBER MOVEMENT & SOMATIC EVENTS 🍂

Here’s what’s happening this October in Louisville

🌿 MONDAYS | OCT 5, 12, 19, 26
SOMATIC BODYWORK & DANCE IMPROVISATION
5:00–6:00 PM
@ambodancetheatre • Louisville

A regular weekly group combining somatic awareness, bodywork, movement exploration, and dance improvisation. We’ll explore how the body moves when we stop trying to “do it right” and begin listening instead. Expect grounding, release, curiosity, play, and plenty of space for your own movement.
No dance experience needed.

💃 SATURDAYS | OCT 10, 17, 24, 31
ZUMBA® + MINDFUL DANCE
11:00 AM–12:00 PM
@ambodancetheatreschool • Louisville

We start with the energy, rhythm, and fun of Zumba®, then gradually shift toward freer, more mindful movement.
A class for both joy and body awareness: move, sweat, dance, have fun, and finish feeling more connected to yourself.

✨ OCTOBER 17 | 3:00–5:00 PM
✨ OCTOBER 27 | 7:00–9:00 PM
AUTHENTIC MOVEMENT & SOMATIC BODYWORK
@maybeitsfatesocial • Louisville

A two-hour experiential, DMT-based class combining Somatic Bodywork, Dance/Movement, and Authentic Movement.
We begin with Somatic Bodywork and Dance/Movement practices to release tension, awaken body awareness, and explore different ways of moving and expressing yourself.
Then we move into Authentic Movement, a practice of listening inwardly and allowing movement to emerge from within, without choreography or the need to perform.
No dance experience is needed. There is nothing to “get right.” Come as you are, with curiosity and a willingness to listen to your body.

October is about movement, connection, joy, and coming back to yourself.
