The honour I feel is immense. To be nominated and selected is a dream for my drama performance. Such an experience representing my fellow Pacific Islanders 🙏🇸🇧 Thank you for all the hardworking people who put this program together and to Anna Warr who took these shots 📸 … #solomonislands #pacificislands #pacificislander #drama #theatre #acting #onstage2025 #onstage2024 by @maysawalton
That’s a wrap!! Couldn’t have been happier for this opportunity to perform among other incredible talents for the 2024 hsc drama. From 1600 amazing nominations down to 59 students in NSW I’m so grateful for this chance. Thank you to all who performed, supported and watched.❤️❤️❤️ @nswedustandards @seymoursydney — #onstage #drama #acting #actor #theatre #hsc #hscdrama #monologue #performance #onstage2024 #syd #sydney #solomonislands #solomonislands🇸🇧 #onstage2025 by @maysawalton
The news is finally out! A huge thank you to @abc_heywire for the opportunity to represent as a young person in the media and to share my story about my great grandfather in WW2. I’m so proud of the support from family and friends (and teacher!) that have helped take my drama piece ‘The Sinking Island of Teonimenu: 8 Waves of War’ to such far lengths. Look out for the replays of my interview on ABC NEWS and my radio talk for ABC NORTH COAST. See you in Canberra!! @baron_walton @iizzywalton @kai_fi_music #abc #abcheywire #news #solomonislands by @maysawalton
On the 25th October 2026, Sydney’s newest airport was officially named after my great grandmother: Nancy-Bird Walton, Australia’s first woman to gain a commercial pilot’s license. Thank you @wsiairport for the incredible honour to witness the aiport’s opening ceremony and the first flights flying out of Sydney. by @maysawalton
What an incredible weekend celebrating the historic opening of @wsiairport Western Sydney International Nancy-Bird Walton Airport, named in honour of my Nan. Her legacy lives on in the heart of vibrant Western Sydney, inspiring future generations to dream big, challenge convention and break barriers. Born in regional Australia, she was a young girl with an extraordinary dream - to fly. At a time when society placed enormous limitations on what women could achieve, she refused to accept boundaries. Nan was so much more than a pioneering aviatrix. She was a trailblazer for social change, challenging gender stereotypes and helping redefine what was possible for women. Her aircraft, VINCERE (Latin for “To Conquer”) carried a powerful message, painted boldly across the underside of its wing was a the word : WOMAN. Every fly-over was a declaration that women could, should and would achieve their dreams. Nearly a century later, seeing her name on this stunning international airport, surrounded by our family, was a powerful reminder of just how far that dream has travelled. Thank you @wsiairport for welcoming us to this historic occasion - as Nan would say “Happy Landings!” #NancyBirdWalton #WesternSydneyInternational #WomenInAviation #WSI by @maysawalton
Some stills from my HEYWIRE episode. Now available to watch on ABC IVIEW! #solomonislands #abcheywire by @maysawalton
We officially aired my ABC HEYWIRE episode to National News on ABC News Breakfast this morning! A huge thank you to my producer, Leah, who was with me on this journey since mid 2025 and worked alongside me throughout the entire process. This story is focused on my people, my culture and my ancestors much rather than a story about myself, and I hope to represent many young individuals, pacific islanders and family back home, to know, that stories like ours can be celebrated. Thank you to my Uncle Natty and DreamCast Theatre back in Honiara and to my brother @kaia_walton (KAI-FI) who produced the music for this video! Also shout out to my high school teacher Ben, who had been with me on this theatre piece since 2024!! He had crafted this story alongside me and it wouldn’t be possible without his collaboration! #abc #heywire #solomonislands by @maysawalton
Last month I put my brother Kaia forward for the 7NEWS Young Achievers Award, showcasing his community leadership through hosting free BJJ seminars in Solomon Islands. Because of his humility and dedicated mentoring to aspiring martial art practitioners, he’s officially made the next stage as a nominee. This is an incredible achievement and a win for all Solomon Islanders back home who continue to train 🥋 @youngachieverawards by @maysawalton
From all across Australia, down to 35 of us, I wouldn’t have done it with anyone else. More photos coming soon ⭐️ #abcheywire by @maysawalton
THANK YOU ABC HEYWIRE 2026 @abc_heywire I’m so honoured to have been able to work with you all in creating better spaces for regional Australia. Wishing the absolute best to everyone!! 🤙🏾 Also, dabbing with the Prime Minister of Australia was not on my 2026 bucket list but here we are. #abcheywire by @maysawalton
I recently got the honour to perform my HSC PROJECT ‘The sinking island of Teonimenu: 8 waves of war’ for the first time overseas at DREAMCAST THEATRE. This collaboration allowed me to share my monologue on the island the story is based off on and to share with my own people and family the history of my great grandfather. Thank you to the team who came in, watched, supported and even offered their collaboration insight into further moving this piece forward. The honour is huge! Somehow more scarier to perform to you guys than the 800 crowd in Sydney. … #acting #theatre #solomonislands #honiara #dreamcast #dreamcasthoniara #explorepage by @maysawalton
Bringing BJJ to SOLOMON ISLANDS This week the family visited a martial arts club in Honiara, Solomon Islands to bring our learning from Australia in BJJ to the Happy Isles. With the help of donations from all the students of @theacademybyronbay we raised enough gis to give. My brother @kai_fi_music then lead the class of 40 people to teach for the men, women and kids about the importance of martial arts. A huge congratulations to all the people who came, who donated and shared their support of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the Pacific and to my dad @baron_walton who organised everything from donations to flights and networking—we have some aspiring future champions here! 🇸🇧🥋 @thalisonvsoares @iizzywalton @bowiewalton @aukiwalton … #solomonislands #bjj #brazilianjiujitsu by @maysawalton
