Goodreads giveaway for 5 physical arcs going on now!

If you're new here, hello! I'm May Seelight and @authorjosephyoung and I wrote "When Crimson Flowers Bloom" together.

It is a dual-pov, enemies-to-lovers, dark fantasy romance that takes your favorite tropes and just... Well, you'll either think we were very generous with them or perhaps very cruel to them.

This book is a dichotomy of beautiful and grotesque. Curses and gifts. Vengeance and forgiveness. Duty and desire. Love and loss. Battles and ballrooms. Hope and heartbreak. Humor and spice. Family and loneliness.

Lord Alderic is charming, funny, confident, sexy... But I promise you, there is more below the surface. No, he is not a brooding shadow daddy. Yes, he could take on an entire army. Would he burn the world for her? Well, he'd at least fantasize about it...

Painted using @gamblincolors 1980 oil paints... Going to need to restock soon though.

QOTD: what brought you to bookstagram?

There are a lot of new faces here as I approach 2k followers (what???) so I figured a reintroduction might be in order.

Hello! I am May Seelight (allegedly) author of the epic fantasy multiple pov second person narrative Wistana Trilogy which will be complete to read in its entirety by Christmas. Books one and two are available now on Amazon and ku

Questions? Comments? Let me know. I'd love to get to know you better as well!

Also go follow @authorjosephyoung . He's my favorite indie author (don't tell him I said that) by @mayseelight.author

All of my covers contain at least one hand drawn element. For book one it is the eye and the blue alchemic circle. For book two it is Morgheris's eye. For book three, you may be wondering, where is the eye?

Well.

If you've read book two... And met Lorien MacVass... Then you know why the hand drawn chrysanthemum was more important to the continuation of his story...

Both first books can be read as standalones, that is not true for book three which deepens the lore and brings back characters from both previous works in the trilogy.

In my opinion, book one being the first book I ever wrote starts a little slow and has some little quirks. It basically begins by setting the scene as a dungeon master might to let their players know what's coming and what has happened...

Get past that and things become pretty fast paced, increasingly so as this multiple pov journey through Wistana continues. Each book is shorter than the last as well.

Will you join the journey?

Tone down the depression of Alchemized, add the hilarious banter of The Irresistible Urge to Fall For your Enemy, then toss in forbidden magic, conflicting kingdoms, ancient gods, and an immortal falling hard and fast for the princess sworn to end him.

"When Crimson Flowers Bloom" is a dual-pov enemies-to-lovers dark romantic fantasy that will have you swooning, laughing, and holding back tears all in the course of one chapter. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ And actually devastating at times, you may want to mind your trigger warnings before landing on the Beautiful and Grotesque planet of Cruvera where this pair of star crossed lovers lay their scene.

Emotional wreckage coming May 2027. Pre-order in @authorjosephyoung or @mayseelight.author 's link trees in bio.

Thank you to our bookstagram besties @budgetwise_bookworm and @cooksreadingbooks for collabing on this reel to help us reveal the gorgeous cover of our new book.

There are a bajillion more people I could tag too, including the 313 narrators who all donated a page for the charity audiobook (coming soon) but if you don’t already, definitely check these folks out and show them some love. They are all very very talented and very very generous.

(Especially @lizzywriteswords — a true friend indeed and deserving of some attention, as a new account)

EARTHY BITTER SWEET is out NOW! Link in bio. If you like the sound of Bridgerton x The Godfather and prefer soulful, character-driven arcs over convoluted plot, this is the book for you.

Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor...

Slow clap for @therenegadewriter right now. This book was INTENSE and I freaking loved it. And the voice acting by @garrett_berserker_couture ? 👏👏👏

This definitely is one of my top audiobooks of the year. Not to mention, if you don't follow @therenegadewriter already, what are you doing??? This guy is so supportive of other indie authors, an amazing beta reader, and gives great book recs besides being an incredible author. Like seriously, "Within a History of Violence" was impressive on so many levels.

When do I get to listen to the sequel?

We are living in a dystopian novel. Prove me wrong. Now would be a great time for someone to fix the interdimensional portal.

Please vote, then go back home and escape into a fantasy world.

Alpha readers extraordinaire aka @budgetwise_bookworm aka mom... More from our conversation reacting to my and @authorjosephyoung 's enemies-to-lovers dark fantasy "When Crimson Flowers Bloom"

If you're interested in Joseph Young's space opera Starborne Duology , it is the reason Joe and I got connected in the first place. My mom has always been a sci-fi fan and told me I should read it as well. We both highly enjoyed and recommend the audiobooks. Unexpected MMF romantic subplot, planet hopping high stakes adventure, fourth wall breaking character, and choose your own ending? Book one is called "Oath to a Withered Star"

Duology aside, I think Joe and I both agree that writing together challenged us both to become better writers. I love his duology and I love my trilogy, but "When Crimson Flowers Bloom" is on another level.
