"We all need some one to lean on!" Those are the relevant lyrics by Bill Withers that apply today and always! It was a blessing for me (VP/West Coast A&R/GM, Interior Music) to agree with the late Clarence Avant (the "Black Godfather")/Founder Sussex Records, and the late Ron Mosely (VP, Promotions/Sussex Records) to pick "Lean On Me" as the first single from the "Still Bill" album! And now 53 years later since the release of "Lean On Me," my Virtuous Bride and Ministry Partner/Rev. Dr. Linda Duchess McCaskill and I are leaning on the Lord/Adonai to help others with food insecurity! After doing what some call the "The Great Compassion" (Matthew 25:35-40) to families in a public housing community and a community of displaced families from around the world, a father and his daughter saw us putting gas into the Uhaul truck at 7-11! He expressed his appreciation in a spirit of humility! We don't know people's situations. That's why Yeshua M'shiha/Jesus the Messiah in Aramaic) proclaimed not to judge people (Matthew 7:1-3)! Due to sharp increases in the cost of living, the needs are immense for low-income families. Since the government has cut SNAP benefits, we pray that more business owners like Sir Kevin Coates/Grand Rental Station step up and financially support The Great Compassion! We thank Sir Coates for his monthly support (Legacy Partner) and providing the Uhaul truck on Saturday. https://photos.app.goo.gl/q9eXYhRPxyxBSoxL6 What if more business owners would step up and reduce taxes by giving to missions? It takes a Village with Virtuous Adults and Resources to prevent food insecurity! Blessings on Blessings to all! www.aonet.org by @mccaskillsr.ericr

Kuwunda (Tranquility in Bantu, the language of the first Enslaved Africans to be brought to what is now Hampton, VA! In honor of so-called "Black" History Month (colors is an inaccurate description of a Culture, African Diaspora), the anointed and gifted, Sir Jason and Lady Michelle Covington, Music Ministers of Bethel Temple are recognizing those who attend Bethel Temple! I appreciate and honor them for their Consideration, Creativity, Insight, and Purposefulness in shining the light on who be ordinarily "hidden history!" The first two recognized are the brilliant young Mayor of Newport News, the Honorable Phillip D. Jones, and yours truly! It's a beautiful example of an "OMG" (Older Man of God), and a "YMG" (Younger Man of God) having an effective impact on the culture! Mayor Phillip D. A hidden history fact for African Diaspora History Month (so-called "Black" History Month)! During the days of segregated schools, there were the Virginia Interscholastic Association (VIA) League for schools with students of the African Diaspora and the VHSL (Virginia High School League) for schools with all students of European Descent! Coach Harry Groves, Head Track Coach, William & Mary hosted a track clinic for coaches of the VHSL. He made a bold decision by inviting my Coach, Thad Madden, Huntington High School to do a presentation on hurdling. Since I was six times State Champion in high and low hurdles for the VIA, and held three national high school records, Coach Groves wanted the best no matter what he culture! Coach was the first coach of the Diaspora and the VIA to present to coaches of the VHSL! The clinic was held in early January,1965 on the campus of W & M. The campus had not officially Integrated until 1967. After I did demonstrations of running over the hurdles, Coach Groves was so impressed to recommend and advocate that I compete in my first indoor track meet, Chesterfield Joyce's Invitational Indoor Track Meet! I later found out from Coach Madden that there was initial opposition from meet officials. Because of Coach Groves strong influence and challenged me against Doug Griffin, Randolph-Macn Academy, Front Royal, VA. The result by Yahweh God's Great Grace was the first athlete of the Diaspora (VIA) to compete at a VHSL athletic event. I not only broke the culture; barrier (the first so-called Nego, but set a meet record in the 50-yd high hurdles of :6.2 sec). It was also a national record! Coach Groves was used by Yahweh God to provide a national platform for me which caught the attention of such D1/PWI colleges as Maryland, Michigan, Ohio University, New Mexico, UCLA and all of the HBCUs. Coach Groves left W & M for Head Coach at Penn State and opened the door for Coach Warren Coleman of Carver HS, Newport News to be the first of the Diaspora of any sport at Penn State! It was Caucasian men jlll@⁹of Virtues as Coach Groves who were instrumental in desegregation colleges! Than our Heavenly Abba for Caucasian Saints!!! by @mccaskillsr.ericr
On this night of the Grammys, I honor the music that every contemporary music artists, song writers, and musicians are influenced by, The Negro Spiritual, the Mother of All American Music Genres! From Taylor Swift to Jelly Roll to Kendrick Lamar to Missy Elliott to Billie Eilish to all artists of all genres are influenced by the music of the Enslaved Africans! It was out of the egregious sin of institutional slavery and inhumane treatment that the Pentatonic Scale or so-called "Slave Scale" evolved from Africa to America! The music that sustained the Enslaved Africans from 1619 until 1865! It's my prayer that the NARAS will in the future honor Negro Spirituals, the Mother of All American Music Genres at the Grammys! Although a certain so-called national leader wants to erase the history of slavery for 250th Birthday of America, the music that he listens to, i.e. "YMCA" is influenced by Negro Spirituals! In the words of Lady Maya Angelou: "The more you know your history, the more liberated you are." In honor of Negro Spirituals, I perform and tell the story of the journey of horror from N'Dango (changed to Angola by the Portuguese) to America (Hampton/Jamestown)! I perform Negro Spirituals in Paul Robeson mode (baritone voice), and reenact how the Enslaved Africans endured inhumane treatment and how Spirituals giving honor to The Most High Yahweh and the Name of Yeshua M'shiha (Jesus the Messiah in Aramaic before the Romans, Greeks, and the English)! On another Virginia historical note (Newport News in particular), Ella Fitzgerald was the first woman to win a Grammy in 1958! I was blessed to attend the Grammys with Marvin Gaye and an employee of ASCAP! My Heavenly Abba used Clarence Avant AKA "Black Godfather" to open the door for me to work in music business! To Yahweh be the Glory!!! https://photos.app.goo.gl/bWbysKVFEsx189zUA by @mccaskillsr.ericr

It was 4 years ago around this time, I received an alarming call about the tragic death of a Beautiful Spirit, Jackie Avant, the wife of my mentor, Clarence Avant! It was Lady Jackie and their Daughter, Nicole who influenced Sir Clarence to hire me as Manager of Interior Music (publishing affiliate of Sussex Records)! I last talked to her the night before Sir Clarence was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (10/29/2021)! She didn't go to Cleveland with Sir Clarence, her Daughter/Nicole, her son/Alex, and her Son*in*Law/Ted Sarandos! I honor the precious memory of Lady Jacqueline Gray Avant, the essence of a "LOV" (Lady Of Virtues)! I offer continued prayers of Comfort for Daughter/Nicole and Son/Alex! I have the highest honor for Nicole who forgave the murderer of her Mother. Nicole used the parable of being bitten by a poisonous snake. Rather than attempting to get the venom out of one's body, an unforgiving person will chase the snake and ask: "Why did you bite me!" The legacy of Lady Jackie Avant of diginity, elegance, spirituality, fortitude, generority and integrity continues as lived by Lady Nicole A. Avant+Sarandos! She truly is "moving through grief with grit, grace and gratitude " (the Virtue she describes in het book)!Long life the memory and legacy of Lady Jacqueline Gray Avant in the Name of Yeshua M'shiha (Jesus the Messiah in Aramaic, His indigenous Name)!!! by @mccaskillsr.ericr
