Fulfilling the many requests (like, six, but still many to me!) here's a black and white portrait of Angelica. As told elsewhere, I strip colours away only when a picture keeps a strong line structure. 🔳

In the colour version, the wooden beams of the bridge cross awkwardly the middle of the pic. But in black and white, they blend into the lower half of the image, providing it with some of the wanted geometric support. 📐

Plus, in this version Angelica's hair creates a curious optical watery effect with the leaves behind her.

You may leave a kind comment if you want. 👇🏻 Also you're supposed to like, share etc etc... same stuff as always.

Another nice portrait of Angelica, this time near a tree. From my photographer's perspective, this one would 'work' even in black and white. ⚫⚪

Although there are no strict rules about black and white, I generally opt for monochrome when the picture has enough parallel lines. I can't explain it properly, I just feel I can strip away the colours only when the picture still has enough structural support from its lines. 🌐

Without colours, the brain is forced to look for more details, and the observer has to pay closer attention.👁️

Well, the tree, the converging river, the background, and Angelica herself would suffice to provide that grid of lines. But how about the mood? Would it be the same, colourless? I don't think so. Near the flowing river, in the cold, some warm colours and the relaxing green of the background are, in my opinion, necessary. 🌲

What do you think? Drop a comment 👇🏻

Another post from the past ⏳

A candid shot, unplanned, unstaged, yet still full of detail. Angelica gazes into the distance.

Like, comments and so are always welcome, though no one is under any obligation - but if I could force you, I would... Just saying. 👇

Continuing the Quest For Forgotten RAWs, here’s another shot of Angelica that has resurfaced from the folds of time. ⏳

Could this be the last one? We'll see. 👀

Can you spot a little flower? 🌸

Continuing the "did I really shoot this?" series another blast from the past with this 2025 unseen pic of Angelica near the river.

You may reply that she's a little flower herself. Although I'm not gonna say that's a completely wrong answer, swipe left until you see the true correct one. ✅

I can't state if that tiny flower was actually there or if it was digitally added later. And I don't know if it does matter to you, but it doesn't to me, so, just enjoy the picture.

Like, comment, share, repost, same routine as always 👇

A photographer's eye can change over time. It isn't necessarily an evolution; it may be simply a shift in the perception of certain lines, or in the priority given to some specific details. I couldn't say whether this stems from experience, age, or the simple fact of being human.

That's why it sometimes happens that you reopen a folder of RAW files from a shoot done months earlier, spot a photo at a glance, and think: "Where did this come from? Why didn't I publish it? How did I miss it before?". So, sometimes they resurface.

And so, here is Angelica again. Swipe left until you feel uncomfortably close.

Even more pics of Ester! Those are from my Light L16 camera.

Damn, this 16-eyed monster is so hard to use. Every picture has its own parameters, color balance, and even resolution. Even in the same burst shoot, pictures are inconsistent. I did my best to keep the color shift among them in an acceptable range.

But hey, sometimes it spits out some quality photos! And sometimes also HUGE photos!

Some more portraits of Ester, various outfits, various locations, always around Crema (Italy).

I had to digitally remove my own mirror reflection from the last one, but I'll keep the original pic somewhere.

Comment. Like. Share.👇 Or don't. I can't actually force you, you know.

Some landscape portraits of Ester, always around Crema city, always in natural light only. I tend to keep the subject on the right when I do this kind of composition, I guess it unconsciously comes from years and years of choosing the perfect desktop wallpaper for my PCs.

But are those landscapes made of portraits? Or are her portraits made of landscapes? Ester screams, for she doesn't know.

- Variant of the philosophical problem of the gingerbread man

At least she probably would scream melodiously, considering how she sings. Also, doesn't she resemble Uma Thurman in these pics? Drop a comment. 👇
